  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just installed screen protectors for both he main and infotainment screens. Given how expensive and essential these screen are to the operation of the EV, I’m not taking any chances on something cracking or breaking them. Install went better than my last iPad screen protector ;-)
Tomorrow, door edge vinyl protection, RainX on all the glass, and a number of interior and goodies to put in the the front and under-trunk.
Love this car! And have not seen another in Vik Black except this one since they were shipped to this area.

I did my infotainment screen, when I prepped it, I was surprised at the number of tiny scratches already. I think it is almost a necessity to cover it, despite the slight increase in glare.

What did you use to cover it?

Are you okay Fred? Lol

I think you mean you picked up your Tuxmats and they're plush and high end looking. (I am fluent in spellcheck)

Just this screen kit, I only did the infotainment side, don’t really touch the cluster screen except for cleaning. Wasn’t easy (bloody lint), but it may have been better to do it with outside light as opposed to being in the garage.

Screen protector
@Looney100 I'll pay you half for 1 of the 2 in the package. Try yours first then once you've perfected it, come over and do mine! ;)

Please share a pic! I ended up getting the OEM ones and tbh they're pretty lackluster (and overpriced of course).

Decided today to prep the frunk and trunk for potential road-trips:

Front Trunk: High-heat fire extinguisher + gloves + emergency triangle + extra fuses + 12v jump start cables + lithium 12v jump start unit + owners manuals.

Trunk: (kind of left to right/top to bottom). Emergency supply kit + waterproof jacket + flasher LEDs + towel over metric tool kit + cargo net + V2L adpt + bag of various USB plugs/cables + gloves + bungee cord + Tesla level 2 adaptor + first aid kit + Gen lvl 1 charge cord + 25’ AC extension cord for V2L + tire kit + 110v 40amp & 240v 50amp charger adaptor plugs + Level 1 & 2 charger cord end adaptors.

Ordering a full level 1 and 2 smart charger cord with Bluetooth, then store the Genesis supplied cable and my other adaptors.

Let us know if you have other suggestions/ideas of what to store in theses cool compartments.

A lot of good stuff here. You are quite thorough. One of the things I really like about the GV60 is all the storage. It looks like you've put it to good use.

For my own purposes:
  • I have a safety kit in the garage that I will put in the car. Thanks for the reminder.
  • I've never bothered with a fire extinguisher in the car. If a fire starts, I'll just get everyone out and let it burn. That's why I have insurance. No need to put myself at risk fighting the fire.
  • Owner's manuals fit nicely under the trunk, I'll leave them there.
  • I used to carry some basic tools in my cars, but don't any more. Modern cars as very reliable, and I'm not driving anywhere that I won't be able to call for roadside assistance, if needed.
  • I keep various USB cables toward the rear of the center console so that passengers can use them, if needed.
  • I don't like that the OE travel charger is 120V only. I have one from a prior vehicle that was dual 120V and 240V NEMA 6-20, but it would be rare to find a plug in the wild that I'd be able to connect to for Level 2 charging. I debated getting a 14-50 plugged unit, but they're not cheap, and I suspect it would be very rare that I'd need to use it, so will just deal with the repercussions of a level 1 charge, if I'm ever stuck.

No ammo boxes or lock boxes for pistols. Don't forget those.

Yeah, that’s extremely important with these massive battery packs. Having worked a lot with magnesium & lithium, I’m almost surprised I bought one LoL.

Any advice or experience with mudflaps and ppf??
Thinking about some added protection but not sure if it’s worthwhile.

I did PPF. Front fascia, headlights, front fenders, full hood, side mirrors, the painted area between the windshield and moonroof, and the rear spoiler. I had the spoiler done at @Looney100's suggestion because it's gloss black and will show scratches. Besides a few spots I'm getting them to redo because they weren't up to snuff, I was happy with it.

Sounds like solid protection for the most vulnerable parts. With the ppf, do you now only hand wash the car, or can you go into a touchless automatic car wash

I will still use touchless washes. My FIL's 2016 Lexus has had PPF since new and he's assiduous about keeping it clean, so it's been through hundreds of touchless wash cycles with no apparent issues.

That’s reassuring… would rather not have to forgo automatic car washes altogether - particularly during the winter. Thanks for sharing your experience! Hoping we can get the ppf done soon - at least the front end and mirrors.
