  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Really dislike how there are no lights on the charge port area when charging my GV60 at night. I added a small touch activated battery LED on the charge port cover for better visibility. Only con is that I have to turn it off manually since it doesn’t turn off automatically. I can live with that though.
That's a nice touch.
I suspect anything that included an (external) motion or (device) movement sensor would be a fair bit larger and/or consume much more power. This may be as good as it gets for a retrofit.

Well... I finally did this today.

Went from the OE 20" to 19" (235/55 R19 105V) Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3.
Only went about 7 miles home, but I love them! Silent.
I'll be putting a lot more miles on them this weekend (ugh), so I'll have a much better idea how they perform on all kinds of roads, including some unpaved (eek!).

Off topic...but, I was at a business function and when I left, these 3 guys were creeping on my GV60. None had every seen one and they think our humble GV60 is a stunner. They made me show them the crystal ball. Anyway, one of them said "what's it worth, $150K?" So there you go. People like your car and it may just look more expensive than it is. :)

I was at a golf course a few months ago and when I finished and returned to my GV60 it was surrounded by three guys who were admiring it. They were Genesis knowledgeable and really liked the look of the GV60.

I know this is petty, but...
After a trip... another wash and ceramic coat. Shines!!
The ceramic coating is incredible. It was filthy from the dirt roads, and the front was clobbered with bugs. But when I rinsed it off to wash it, all the dirt and bugs just slid off. Amazing stuff. And I love the new wheels.

I weighed my Chrome-moly lugs vs the stock ones and the difference was 15.63 grams. 111.39 stock vs 95.76 aftermarket. They also now use a 17mm socket vs 19mm. I can also swap the collars to tappered collars should I switch wheels which I am REALLY tempted to do.

I recently test fit ARK Performance's GV60 lowering springs last week. The drop wasn't too dramatic after a week of the springs settling. Love the look now that the wheel gap has shortened. I did feel a slight difference in ride quality especially in the rear where it felt a little more bouncy. Not sure when these will be on sale but it's a good option to have against Eibach as I heard they're pretty rough (according to an EV6 owner via YouTube with those installed).

Looks great!

Re: Eibachs, they aren't rough or harsh, I have them on my GV60. Dampers have more impact on the ride quality than springs, and the EV6 has different dampers than we do so their experience to lowering will likely be different.

Do you have any 1/4 shots of the entire vehicle? I’d like to get a sense of o we all height vs stick.

I was never a fan of Eibach's ride quality. I tried them twice and will never use again. I used H & R and yes defintely a difference in ride quality particularly with big potholes but the difference in handling is night and day.

It really differs from car to car and which version of the kit (drop and spring rate) you buy. I've had good and bad experiences with Bilstein, Eibach, H&R, KW etc. The only time you can really compare directly like that is with coilovers, since you get springs and dampers that are tuned together, rather than slapping lower/stiffer springs on dampers tuned for OEM springs. I've had a lot of setups on each of my Focus, RX8, 350z, and 335is. I'm assuming you probably tried the "Sportline" springs instead of "Pro-Kit". Sportlines drop most cars well beyond (I think over 2" IIRC, vs like 1.2" for prokit) what the stock dampers should be working with and cause a crappy ride, it's always advisable to get upgraded dampers that are meant for lowering springs ...

It's not rocket science, two springs of the same rate and drop will feel the same, regardless of brand. I doubt either of these 3 companies are so far off the spring rate spec of the other that it would make a huge difference. For instance, the H&R Sport and Eibach Pro Kit for the Ioniq 5 both lower the front and rear by 30mm. Unless the ARK has a significantly lower drop (which it doesn't look like), I bet if you took all 3 of our lowered GV60, ARK, Eibach, and H&R, the ride quality would be nearly identical.

If I didn't come across the free setup from Eibach for testing I would likely have just bought the first set to come to market. What I really want are Ohlins R&T (DFV) coilovers tuned for comfort. I reached out and they said they have no intention of developing for the E-GMP cars, but who knows if that has changed since last year.

I've tried both actually and it goes from bad to worse when going from Pro Kit to Sportline. They are just a firmer ride for those that prefer that but plenty of good spring mnufacturers out there in all ranges and types.

I have a cargo carrier that I will need to use if I ever want to go somewhere with the wife & two kids. First test will be a relatively short 5 hour drive to the beach in August. Curious to see how this will affect range.
I'm interested in hearing how this trip goes. Would love to see the range hit.

I did a test dip of the front valence in matte black.
View attachment 48330View attachment 48331View attachment 48332The one thing I don’t like about the GV is the unnecessarily large grill. It just looks like a whole lot of shiny black plastic to me, which I think really cheapens the look for such an expensive, luxury car. I wish at least the upper grill was chrome, which looks more luxurious to me. I have the high performance model in red with black interior as I thought it was the sportiest looking colors they had. I originally went to look at one this color, which looked more like copper in the ads. I was disappointed to see it look more like the insipid champagne color of years past.
