  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what is causing this noise coming from my engine ? People have recently told me it sounds like a rod knock and I'm starting to get scared, however I'm almost positive I have had this sound since I bought the car, I bought it used and it's got 100k on it now ? If anyone could help me out would be much appreciated

Also when I press in and hold the clutch the noise goes away until I let off.

I have had the same type of sound with every stick shift I have ever had. Going away with the clutch pressed is usually pretty normal. This one is louder than usual though, but I can't tell so well since it is being recorded. You could have something loose in your clutch, but is everything working ok mechanically? Engages and disengages fine?
