  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What is going on at BMW?

Feels like every new car they announced in the past few years is an attempt to one-up the ugliness.

If that was in my driveway, I'd drape a blue plastic tarp over the front end to improve appearance.

BMW has been trying to see who can make the ugliest car. First it was the M2, and now this. I just hope this does not become the new trend because everyone tend to copy German designs.

Amen, and they will assemble them here in Greenville. And Lexus ruined the RX trying to copy Audi's grill. Too much design by committee and focus groups.

The XM takes the cake... took "lipstick on a pig" too literally.

I just wish they’d make comfortable seats.

That is an insult to pigs. Pigs are cute. This...I do not know what this is.

Prior to owning my Genesis I drove BMWs. I loved the way they handled. I even test drove the i4 and iX and both drove very well (frankly better than my GV60) but the butt ugliness was too much for me. I think it is a shame that the brand doesn't seem to care.

From forums I have been on, including BMW's, there appear to be a small percentage of BMW owners who actually like the design of the new vehicles and a much larger cohort of folks who decided to purchase the BMW DESPITE the designs.

Guess customers weren't as tasteless as BMW thought they were... only been out a year and already price is slashed.

On days I don't play golf I walk in the Scottsdale Fashion Square mall (where there are dealerships for Tesla, Polestar and Lucid). The other day BMW had an XM on display in the food court area. It actually made the iX look attractive. Despite all the reviews and owner/prospective owner comments, BMW not only seems committed to its current design philosophy but seems to think it is attractive (otherwise why would they put it on display). On the other hand, BMW does its autocross program every year in a number of cities and if one hasn't done it, it is a hoot.

Now not only are their exteriors still ugly, the interiors reek of cost cutting. Plastic everywhere, including door handles.
