What is going on with current incentives?

I've heard from a number of sources that there is a $1000 incentive and a $1500 competitive incentive on the 2010 Genesis Sedan right now. I know, from Hyundai, that there is a $1000 incentive in CERTAIN parts of the country and that they were rolling it out to other parts. Like Honda, I believe Hyundai keeps these incentives quiet possibly. I wonder if anyone has firm knowledge of these incentives. Note, there are some dealers that are posting "fake" incentives which are really just dealer discounts off MSRP. Thanks...

My wife and I just leased a 2010 4.6 with tech package in the SF Bay Area and we got both the 1k incentive and the 1.5k competitive owner incentive (we have a MB as our other vehicle). From our experience, some dealers would tell you about the incentives, some wouldn't. We knew about them before we even stepped foot in the first dealership, but wanted to see who was being honest and willing to get a good deal for us. We ended up negotiating the price of the car to 37k with the incentives and that was the best that we could do. A dealer closer to where we live matched the offer, so we decided to go through them.

Just got our 2010 White Satin Pearl 3.8 yesterday. Was astounded to learn of the $1500 competitive vehicle rebate halfway through our dealings. Noted on the rebate release document I signed, that it was in effect in California, Texas and Florida.

How does the competitive rebate work ? If you qualify, should you negotiate
pricing first (invoice or $500.00 below) & then deduct the rebate(s) ?

I picked up a 2009. On that one the dealer told me there was a $1500 dealer incentive and $1500 rebate...both given to me at the time of sale.

The competitive rebate (from my understanding) is so that you don't go to the competitor. So everyone is eligible for it. The $1000 rebate/incentive I'm unaware of.

Just purchased a 2010 4.6 in December $39,985 (before tax & tags) and got the $1,500 Competitive Coupon when we showed a registration with our name and address on it. We sold a 300m in July. Check with your dealer as to what vehicles they will accept.

Can a dealer not post what the qualifying vehicles are?

I am looking to replace my 02 Continental. Spoke with the salesperson who sold me my 09 back in January. He told me I can buy a leftover new 2009 V8 Tech (same as what I presently have) for $34,995. Tempted, but there are two other cars I'm "toying" with buying. As long as the Continental is running good, I'm in no hurry to get another to replace it.

Any car can qualify. I haven't heard of a dealer rejecting anything.

I was told 1500 on any car you own except a KIA. Had to show a title.
