  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What is your Build Date?

What are the changes for the US headlights on the V8? When was the change introduced?

One person here claims he has inside information and the US will now have LED running lights like the rest of the world has on their Genesis on both V8 and V6. I will believe it when someone actually reports back the fact in real life otherwise it remains a rumour in my book. I am not saying this person lied so please take no offence, simply indicating he may have been mislead.

Why in the world would Hyundai create a different lighting scheme which costs big $ to produce/engineer as it is a change from standard production only to change it a few months later? Makes no sense at all.

We have been through this before. There are a lot of KDM options that are not on the USA version, which is less expensive than any Hyundai Genesis sold anywhere in the world. They had to draw the line somewhere to meet their pricing objectives. Obviously, based on market feedback, they decided that they drew the line incorrectly in this particular case.

Also, if the price oil of stays at the current levels (about $80/BBL) or goes lower, they are going to have to making a lot more V8's to meet demand. Marketing is not an exact science, and sometimes they have to make adjustments.

But making the already present LED brows the DRL's wouldn't cost money - in fact having the amber turn signals be the DRL's likely costs more as it means they don't leverage the same parts across the entire volume of cars produced - what they did with DRL's for the USA models makes no sense!!!

You may be right about that, but I would listen to HMA explanation before passing final judgment.

On my Sept. 14 build, I think that the DRLs are amber (shared with the turn signals) and the parking lights are LEDs.

Those with mid-September and on build dates, could you please report on any change to the LED DRL's, instead of the ambers.

Ditto. I am interested if this was changed as well as if there is a quick fix for those of use stuck with the Amber DRL's.

Sept 29 still amber.

October 14, 2014, took about 6 weeks to show up at the dealer in Weatherford, Texas.

Roger - could you confirm that the LED DRL's are not yet implemented and still the amber lights?

Just bought mine Nov 22nd but build date is 17 July 2014. Must have sat on the lot for a while! Only 25 miles on the clock though, so wasn't taken out much.

I wonder how long the boat trip from Korea takes?

Had a couple containers shipped when I worked overseas and that took about 20 days, but that was US to UK and then UK back to US when we moved back.
