  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking into buying one, just wanna get a feel for what to expect as far as maintenance, whether it be mechanical or features breaking in the car. Thanks!

One thing that's almost a guarantee is that you'll need to replace the air struts. Both front and rear will go out on you.

Any idea how long they usually last? Ended up buying the 2011 signature, fell in love with it instantly. 100k miles, always serviced by dealerships it’s whole life, not entirely sure if the air struts have been replaced or not yet.

There are reports on this forum of the suspension going out before 50K. My fronts went out at 80K. There's no way to predict the time/mileage they'll go out. OEM replacements are extremely pricey ~ $2K per corner at the dealership:

If you search on here, there are more affordable alternatives.

For sure though, it's not "if" but "when" they'll go out. This will be my first/last car equipped with air suspension.

Mine were replaced under warranty at about 50K miles
I dont know the cost since it was " no charge" in the dollar column

Other than that...and I realize that is a big one...the cars are pretty solid
Just maintenance for the most part

A good extended warranty is your friend

I personally dont think there is any substitute for air suspension in regards to a good ride
I think the Equus actually rides better than the G90 does on a smooth road because of that

Clearly when the cars get older it becomes something that is hard to diagnose and expensive to fix

So far I’m loving my Equus. Seems like everyone is saying their suspension went out semi early. Haven’t checked mine yet but it feels good, and works well for being at 102,000 miles. Don’t see any signs of sagging or anything. Hearing a noise whenever I turn left but very well could be my power steering, the fluid is slightly low just haven’t got around to filling it up.
