Genesis Model Type
Genesis G80
Bought a used 2017 G80 with 47k miles on it. Don't believe anything other than normal course motor oil changes had been done previously and the normal course dealer servicing that comes with a 3 year car lease.

So far i have installed a new engine air filter, cabin air filter, did my own oil change (don't trust the dealer i bought it from), net tires.

Would you do anything else? Flush and replace the coolant, diff fluid, transmission fluid?

The brakes seem to be totally fine, but i assume the original pads are on the car. Would you replace the rotors, pads and do a full brake fluid flush soon?

Thank you

congratulations! your money is going to be worth it!
I got you all answers.

It's funny that now they have two different entrances for normal Hyundai and Genesis at some local Hyundai..(and some of them are treating you like Mercedes dealerships do)

from my experience (own 2016 3.8 htrac with about 58k miles) ...
great overall! had no mechanical issues so far. some folks in Korea already reached more than 300k miles with genesis so I'm not worried.. and It's hard to find problems in this forums too

the AC cabin filter is super easy to replace your own. (dealerships cost ~$60)

the g80 is a heavy sedan so you might wanna keep your eyes on TPMS (low pressured tires cause many issues)

Continental dws6 is the best tire (tried MXM4 and Primewell Valera Sport AS which is pretty much the cheapest and the most expensive ones)

you still have dealer warranty up to 60k or 5 yrs which comes first (It's bumper to bumper things like lights, bulbs, any latch parts etc..

any local Hyundai will help you with free multi-inspection

good luck with your new g80!

Congratulations on your purchase. I bought an 18 G80 ultimate in July with 13,800 miles on it. Black/beige interior... I love the car. This forum is very helpful and informative. I ordered mudguards for mine and I want to add a nice looking rear spoiler. What color is yours?DSC_5436.webp

Congrats on your new ride and welcome to the forum.

I would change the rear differential fluid and inspect the coolant level. I would also check the brake fluid quality with a brake fluid meter that detects water in the brake fluid. If the meter gives a good reading then I would leave the brake fluid alone; flush the brake fluid if the meter says the fluid is bad. The coolant should be good for about 100k miles.

You already done the engine oil which should be the first thing you change regardless of what the dealership tells you unless the car is under warranty by them and they can provide records of the oil change being done recently. Changing the transmission fluid could not hurt, but it probably could be done later before 100k miles with the transmission filter(which is bonded to the transmission pan) as well.

One more item to consider is GDI induction cleaning as these engines can quickly accumulate carbon on the intake side.
