  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What the HELL is going on with Kia?!

There's the 1.6T Veloster that looks like it'll squeeze into that segment. It's 1.6L, but is much lighter than the Genesis Coupe. But I have no clue what they have in store for the Veloster. IMHO it has to have the 2.0T in it with the twin scroll turbo to take over that segment. If that mid-engine Veloster ever makes it to market, that'd be a game changer.

I think the Veloster could do a good job squeezing into that segment. I'd love to see the 2.0T available as at least as option. I won't hold my breath for a mid-engine Veloster, though.

I sat in a Veloster Turbo at a car show last year and could not believe the leg room that car had. I could actually put the seat all the way back and stretch out my legs. I am 6'1" and was shocked. I couldn't do that in my little Honda Civic SI which is about the same size car.

My youngest son wants the Turbo with the Gray matted finish. I have read up on those and the matte finish is hard to keep clean. My oldest sons friend has the none Turbo model and he said it has no balls and cannot get out of its own way. :D

Only problem with your thesis is that the Kia is not highly rated as a great road car.

Any auto maker "could" allow that. The problem is that if there is some guy sitting in the back seat directly behind the driver, he will likely become sterilized if you try it.

Cheaper than a vasectomy, and as a bonus, singing high tenor is a possibility! :D

IMHO when Kia announced the 2.0T coupe, I thought it made a lot of sense. I'd love to see sales figures, but I know that I see a lot more 2.0T Genesis Coupes around than 3.8's and I always thought it was a head scratcher that they got rid of it. In swoops Kia to pick up that segment. Smart.

the N-brand is supposed to have that midship Veloster. That will turn the hot hatch segment on its head. 300 BHP mid-engined 2 seater hatch back. I don't know how well it'll sell but that would be my next car. If I read it right, that car not a matter of IF but WHEN. The recent announcement of the N-brand http://brand.hyundai.com/en/challenge/for-technology/rm15.do they are talking up the RM15 like it's coming, not just a prototype.
