  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Since the Genesis nav hard drive doesn't do music storage (even Buick's does!), I want to buy a USB drive I can use for that purpose. I see posts from people having problems with theirs. Before I spend my money, I'd like to hear what particularly drives are being used successfully. Please? Thanks.

One of the biggest factors is that the drive must be FAT formatted, which is usually not a problem with thumb drives. It is a concern with 2.5" USB hard drives, which are usually not formatted as FAT32. Also, some 2.5" drives may draw more power than can be delivered by a single USB port (and need a Y-adapter to pull from two ports). Since the Genesis only has one USB port, those hard drives wouldn't work unless you could work out something that feeds power from the 12V outlet.

I've used a 32GB stick with no problems, except for the Lexicon's slow indexing and browsing of the files.

I use a 16G flashdrive. It's awesome!
