  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Minivan Rendered As The Anti-SUV, But Should It Happen?

Launching a minivan nowadays might not seem like such a great idea what with the proliferation of crossovers and SUVs, but some automakers would beg to differ. Lexus has the LM in China where Buick sells its GL8 Avenir, but it's not just in the People's Republic where people movers still matter. Kia has crunched the numbers and decided to not only keep the global Carnival, but push it significantly upmarket. Read more...

I thought that was a declining market in the US. Perhaps it would attract younger demographic with kids.

I am not into auto market demographics research but unless it says otherwise, I think a mini van is not a smart thing to dilute your engineering efforts. Get your dealers into the Lexus level of service first and THEN you can look into other potential models….

Hmm, I'd be open to seeing it, but I think the SUV craze is not going away anytime soon.

no unless they put the 3.5 TT engine in it and make it a performance minivan

then, still no, but not as hard of a no

There is a huge demand in countries like Korea, Taiwan, Japan but especially China.. They use many luxury minivans in these countries.

That's correct, but you cannot put 4x8 feet sheet of plywood flat on the floor of SUV. I can do it with my Pacifica.

I love minivans. And if there were an upscale version, I'd buy it. Just make sure the 2nd row is removable so I can haul some 8x4. It makes me sad that there are only 4 manufacturers competing in the USA although all are decent products.

It would make a fine base vehicle for a line of custom hearses. Yes, I can visualize it in this lineup of brands.

Why would you need a hearse if you could have this?
