  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello,

I am in Northern California. I am thinking of buying the 2012 Genesis 3.8
without the Premium and Technology packages. Total MSRP is showing $35,075.
Edmunds shows that the dealer invoice for this car is $32,920.

How much are the dealers getting from rebates and holdbacks on this car at this time? At what price is a good deal to buy this car at?

If I were to lease this car, what other "fees" should I be paying, such as advertising fees, shipping fees, etc.? Thanks.

The $35,075 includes transportation charges, unless the dealer has to trade/ship with another Hyundai dealer (cost would depend on distance). Forget about paying for any other dealer "add-ons."

You should be able to get pretty close to invoice. Also, check out buying services such as offered by American Express, Costco, Bank of America, credit unions, which are usually pretty good prices, although some buyers have done even better.

Do a nationwide search on cars.com to find the lowest price, then ask your dealer to match it. I got $6K off MSRP doing this, but my 3.8 has the premium package.

Are you saying you paid less than $34K (plus TTL)?

I got a 2012 Genesis 3.8 base with just the wheel locks and cargo mat. MSRP was $35,320. After negotiation/rebates/motozuma it was $28,400. Also got the 0.9% financing for 36 months. I am in Southern California.

Just bought 2012 3.8 with all in list was 44,000 paid 37,000 + TTL got another 500 off for Vet. Two dealers in North TX give all incentives and even hold back money to get below invoice. My son bought a Spec R 6 months ago with list 47,000 paid 41,000 same deal as my 3.8

No, it was just under $34K before TT&L. Total out the door was $36.5K. Texas state vehicle tax is 6.25%.
