  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ok, sorry for the bad photo, but I noticed this thing hanging on the underside of my new 2015 5.0 is the undercarriage supposed to be flat?

Called the Kia dealer I bought it from (after 5) and he said to bring it in tomorrow, because all the service guys left...

Where in the undercarriage is this located? The photo is awfully dark.

Feel like Ray Charles, can't see shit.

It's in the middle (front to back). I'll try to snap some better pix.

Hard to tell, but the image resembles a loose aero-panel. Could be a simple fix (reattaching the panel).

Yeah...everything looks pretty smooth underneath in the video. Maybe an aero panel is loose? Dealer said to bring it back in the morning. The ONE THING my dad said to do is have them put it on a hoist for me. Lol

And the rear left window doesn't move. And the window lock button doesn't seem to work

GMTA. I wouldn't be so worried, but I'm driving home tomorrow (500 miles)

According to other members on this forum over the years, this has happened sometimes when they don't replace the panels properly after an oil and filter change. Sometimes the fasteners are damaged during removal and need to be replaced.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
So the dealer (Kia dealer who's owned by a company that owns several Hyundai dealerships) does their own CPO style inspection of used cars that they sell. 150 point inspection, 10/100k power train warranty, etc. It looks like they skipped a few of those points with a loose panel in the under carriage, and non-functioning window. When I bring the car in on Monday morning, what do I say? "Fix those things & redo the inspection?" Also, They put new rear tires in my car, but the front two are almost done. they say 5/32, but I think it's closer to 4 or less from my cheap tire gauge...

It appears (from many others who have posted in this forum) that they don't do much of an inspection on a CPO. You should probably make sure everything works yourself.

Yeah, doesn't surprise me too much. The splash panels don't surprise me TOO much. Just sloppiness on the service department. But a window that doesn't work seems a little too agregious.

I agree. But the point is that they don't actually do the inspections. Seems to be a common issue for CPO cars as reported by members on this forum.

More importantly, I forgot how to spell "egregious"

Take it by a Hyundai/Genesis dealer and ask for a 128 point inspection, as you just bought the car. There shouldn't be any charge. As for the KIA dealer, I don't think I'd be too keen on them touching my car again after this situation.

As for the tires, if you can hold out, Michelin has its annual sale in October. If you can't hold out, Discount Tire has some offers and will match Costco's prices. Costco charges $1/tire disposal and $14 for installation. MAKE SURE TO HAVE THE TIRES INSPECTED FOR TREAD DEPTH PRIOR TO DISCUSSING PURCHASING A NEW SET. Discount Tire buys used tires for $20 a piece, just as long as the tread depth is 5/32" or greater. Costco also includes a road hazard warranty at NO COST.

Finally got out of there an hour ago. Finally eating lunch, so I’ll keep this short. Two splash panel & the connector were damaged. They are cutting me a check for parts & labor ($680) and Jerry rigged it so that I can drive home and get it serviced there. Window is warranty repair, so I’ll get that taken care of.

I also met the previous owner. He’s the GM of the dealership

Definitely let a Hyundai dealer fix this. While they are under there, get the inspection.
