  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I got a 2013 3.8 sedan. Was fishing with my kids and when we were heading out towards home we hit a bump on the dirt road and the car shuts down and won't start. It hits one clunk at the starter and that's all she'll do. After a few field tests with no luck at all, got it home, charged up and still no crank/no start. Checked all 5 fuse panels. 🤬 Everything good. Battery is gold standard and ok. (+) terminal was a little loose but after some readjusting it's snugged up nicely. So I'm not really sure what to check next. I'm not very familiar with Hyundai/Genesis, but so far I'm happy with the car. It's got 172k on it and this is the first real issue we've had from it. Any ideas or similar issues anyone???

Welcome. Just noting that this topic has been moved out of the community lounge and into the first generation Hyundai Genesis Sedan forum...

I’m having a no start no crank issue with my 2013 genesis rspec. I started the car and hopped out of it immediately and within 10 seconds of the car idling it died. Went to restart the car and nothing. I have all the accessories working, I tow it home to look at it and find two fuses that blow every time i attempt to start it sensor 1 which is

ECM, Mass Air Flow Sensor, Oxygen Sensor #1,2,3,4 and sensor 3 which is ECM, Injector #1~#6, Fuel Pump Relay I have no idea where to go from here thanks !

The engine quit running because the fuel pump stopped (fuel pump relay circuit). No crank is because the ECU fuse blew.

Fuses blow when the current in the circuit exceeds tolerance, so look for shorts to ground in the affected circuits (wires and components).

The car depends on steady 12v power directly from the battery to function. Any interruption and the car will stall. So if it isn't loose battery connections, then inspect the fuse block on top of the battery positive terminal. They can fail internally; the bus-bars can fatigue and crack, causing intermittent opens due to vibration (hitting a bump while driving, closing the trunk, etc.).

Okay thanks !! I’ll have to check the ecu fuse as well. I guess I’ll just search around and find the short thanks again.

Any known cause for this issue? I get a bit scared reading some of these threads about issues. My only issue is a TPMS light at 208K miles and I have to see if the dealer can make the computer “talk” to the new probes. Travel out west for work makes this difficult currently.

I could not find any issues no shorts or any issues that could result in this but I have heard these cars have ecu problem before I bought it so 🤷🏻. Yeah I went to multiple tire shops and they can’t program the sensors. They directed me to the dealership.
