  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am looking for a place to do wheel alignment without paying an arm and a leg. I live in Socal area. I have Firestone lifetime alignment warranty on another car and I am thinking to get that one for my Genesis. Any suggestions ?

Firestone generally doesn't have to computer needed to align a Genesis. You're looking at a dealer or import shop.

Had mine aligned at the dealer for $80 today. Steering wheel was off center and it was bugging my OCD tendencies. I said just do an alignment and get it all straight. I feel better now.

$80 is a steal... my last one was $120! Still cheaper than buying 1 tire or 4!

Suggestion. Alter the Thread title to reflect the area you're located in.

Got my first alignment on this 2013 Sedan last Friday. $65. Drives oh so much better. Was driving like Sh*t @ 80mph+.

Bonus these folks are within 3 miles of home here. Second time I've had my car in. First time was post purchase about a Month ago for an under carriage once over.

So far they appear to be thorough and honest.

I bought life time alignment from firestone when it was on sale for $149. What do you mean exactly by firestone doesnt have computer needed to align genesis?

They can't zero the steering angle sensor. They can do all the mechanical part, but when it comes to lane assist and stability control the sensor must be exact.

I have the base 3.8 awd. So no LKA on my car.

You still have stability/traction control. If you induce a slide the car will make decisions based on false steering input. Same for straight line driving, once the sensor is far enough out of position the car will assume you are intending to turn rather than go straight, pulling throttle and possibly tapping brakes to correct course.

Oh didnt know stability and traction control takes in effect of alignment. Good to know!

Interesting thought. I just checked with my local Firestone and also another alignment place that only specializes in alignment. They both said no sensor work needs to be done for regular maintenance. They do those things only when something really wrong with the car such as accident or some sensors not working completely. Price quoted by the 2nd place was $80 for one time alignment, by Firestone it is $90 for one time alignment and $180 for lifetime alignment. I guess I will go with the Firestone then.

I use Firestone every 6000 miles on my Genesis. No issues.

Had my 2018 Genesis G80’s tires replaced and an alignment done at my local Firestone. Told them the car lane keep assist. Now my Lane Keep Assist is not working.

They claim they checked my VIN and nothing was needed for the Lane Keep Assist. Lesson learned

The key lesson here is to listen to Suburbazine.

I was debating getting my rear tires replaced at Firestone. They quoted about $600, but then I read this thread and realized that they would eff it up. Look like $1000 at the dealer for me!

I feel stupid, some how the Lane Keep Assist switch on the lower left hand side of the dash got turned off. Everything is fine.

You dont need a dealer to replace tires. Suburbazine was specific about the alignment.

I use Discount Tire - but they don't do alignments though.

I use Firestone as well. Got my unlimited coverage for $99 on the New Year's Eve sale.
The guys are always good about asking me if I want it aligned to factory spec or something else.

I'm with Skipgen, I use Discount as well. Heck, they'll match their parent company (DiscountTireDirect.com) when it comes to extended warranty.

Their extended warranty is hard to beat. Doesn't matter what happens to a tire - they just replace it if necessary.

That's because most of the manufacturers have to trust the shops. Discount sells an unbelievable number of tires.
