  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2012 Black/Black sedan with both available option packages.

The roads in the Los Angeles area are really bad, potholes everywhere. Here's my question:the car's suspension is a lot stiffer than my old Lexus, hence the potholes help to create a somewhat rough ride. How often should I have the wheel alignment checked out? By an independent tire shop or the dealer? I only have 2,000 miles on my vehicle and do not want to ruin a set of tires early on.

Buy a tire depth gauge and keep it in the car. Check the depth about twice a month and you should catch an alignment issue early. The tread depth should measure about the same across all grooves of each tire unless your have not rotated your tires for a while.

The roads here are a joke, but that seems to be the case in every major metropolitan area in the United States...your hard earn tax dollars at work. You can't just look at the tires from the side. You really either have to have the car in the air, take the tires off the car or turn the front wheels and look at them carefully. I'd have the tires inspected every 7500 miles which is the same rotation cycle. Check the air pressure monthly, at least, especially since we are getting unusually cold weather here in SoCal.
