About 2 yrs ago I hit a short curb at a slow speed. I noticed a humming noise after that, which I attributed to a bad wheel bearing/hub. I recently decided to replace it as I felt the vibration was just slightly worse. I bought a new OEM hub off ebay. I installed it yesterday and it seems to have gotten worse. I get a pronounced hum at 54 mph. I went to the tire store for a rotation/balance and they recommended new tires as they're near their end. Ordered them and going back tomorrow for install. After that I'll try to schedule an alignment. What would the chances are of a defective hub out of the box? I'm tempted to buy an aftermarket hub and swap it out to rule out that out. What would you guys check next?
