Wheel locks worth it

Some dealers put them on to make a little extra profit. Worth it? This will help you decide

There are ones made where the barrel of the lock rotates, so banging an old socket onto it won't help. Somewhere on the web, perhaps ProjectGarage - there are tests of some different wheel locks, and some are worthless, some are pretty good. He tells you which are which.

My car did not come with them, I put in on a list to get, but then decided against it. I know I could just break off the nut and that would cause additional damage to my car other than the wheels missing.

Hard to disagree, however, banging on a lug might bring a bit more attention to the car especially at night. It's just a deterrent. Kinda like motion lights on a garage.
