  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all, quick question, got a 2023 2.0T Advance with 18 x 8 inch / 34 mm offset wheels, purchased same size new wheel for my winter set up but with 38 mm offset. In your learned opinion(s), should I be installing spacers ? Found both 3 and 5 mm at my local speed shop, not certain if the 3 mm would allow the wheel hub to still properly center and mate with the 67.1 mm flange to make it true hub centric. Thanks !

Hello all, quick question, I have a 2023 2.0T with original 18 x 8 / 67.1mm hub / 34mm offset wheels, for my winter set up got same spec wheels but with a 38mm offset. In your learned opinion, should I be installing spacers ? Found 3mm but not certain if the wheel hub will still properly engage/mate the 67.1 flange to get true hub centric fit. Thanks.

A 3mm spacer is too thin for the hub to properly engage. You'll lose the hub-centric fit, which can cause vibration.

Your new wheels with a 38mm offset are only 4mm further in. This is a very small change and is perfectly safe to run without any spacers. You will not have any issues.

Just mount them and drive.

Will do, thanks Glassman888 !

18x8 ET38 will bolt on and work just fine.

FWIW, you can get hubcentric spacers like these. 3mm and 5mm ones don't require extended studs or nuts. Either would correct your offset to within 1mm of stock 34mm. In everyday driving, an offset deviation less than 5mm isn't going to matter much.
