  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When are Magmas arriviing?

On the inside, the cockpit arrangement is EXACTLY like my 2024 Advanced GV60. The biggest difference is the seats, which are much stiffer and strongly bolstered. Probably not as comfortable on long drives, but not bad. The seats do have heating and cooling, which I think is missing from the Ionic 5N. Also the seats are motorized, which again I think the 5N doesn't have. Other than that, every single button is in the exact same spot as on my car. With your eyes closed, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The "Mode" button was named "Magma" (??), while the Boost button (which my car of course doesn't have) was still called Boost. I think maybe the steering wheel had an addition spoke on the bottom. Oh, and the roof is solid, there's no sunroof/moonroof or opening of any kind. The instrument gauges were different, but since obviously I couldn't drive the car I couldn't really understand what the gauges meant - in the mode the car was in there were 3 temperature guages.

It would be crazy for me to buy this car, I don't drive my Advanced to more than probably a third of its potential. I'm not really into fast driving. I almost certainly won't buy this car, but all that being said, I find it tempting! I guess I'd have to buy a Cosmic Orange iPhone Pro Max to go with it :ROFLMAO: 99.9% I'm sticking with my current GV60, but I did think this was the coolest car at the show. As you can see, I had full access to everything, I was able to open the trunk, glove box (still a sliding drawer), etc. I thought about trying to open the frunk but I chickened out, now I kind of regret that.

Love the roof. I hate sunroofs or glass roofs. Alwayys thought they should have deleted the roof rails on the performance trim. Thee seats sound perfect for me and the 3 temp gauuges willl come in handy for track days. Hopefully one is rear dif temp as ive heated mine up pretty good before just on the street. I had 295/35R21 tires on my performance so hoping I can squeeze even wider tires in those flared fenders. Lastly the bigger front rotors will be extremely beneficial as I have warped my front performance rotors once before.

Did you take your car to a racetrack?!?

I have done lap days with manny of my cars over the years. My GTR was a hoot but it drank race fuel at an ungodly rate. Obviously this car is different but battery and rear dif fluids do tend to get hot so hopefully the magma will have ways to monitor those

I've done plenty of HPDEs over the years too, including my EVs, but it never even occurred to me to take the GV60 - it just doesn't seem like that type of vehicle... (damping too loose, not super-inspring to drive quickly, etc. etc....)

So have you had your GV60 to a racetrack, or how did you manage to heat up the rear diff so much??

Well I suspect it was heat as my first dif fluid change at 15000 miles was alarmingly black sludge. Since then I have not had car back on track and fluid has stayed clean.

Actually with a set of springs, chassis braces and a wide set of wheels and tires the car is a hoot.

Yeah, between the utterly lifeless steering and the soggy shock damping, I don’t find it to be that much fun to drive. Certainly nothing like as entertaining as my previous Model 3P or even my Plaid.

To me, it’s a lovely cruiser, and does the whole “rocket-propelled lounge” thing pretty well.

YMMV.

I came across this review of a stock Ioniq 6N performing on a track, looks pretty impressive to my eye (note, I've never been to a track with any car), I would expect that the Magma will meet or exceed Ioniq 6N's performance.

Tell me more about "chassis braces". Specifically interested if you've found a strut brace - have done sway bars front and back

I love my GV60P but the one aspect I don't love is the handling. It is optimized for comfort and not turning. I don't need the extra power; the GV60P with its 10 pounds per HP is plenty for me. But if the Magma significantly improved the handling of the GV60P, I would consider it assuming it is even offered in the US.
The “Performance” moniker is mis-used on the GV60, IMHO. Would have been better/more accurate to call it something like “Premier” or “Prestige”.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the nomenclatures adjusted when/if the Magma actually hits the market.

Oh and I HATE that Genesis is continuing with the temporary “Boost” feature, even if it now lasts 15 seconds. Just give us a mode that allows access to full power anytime we want it!!

I agree the GV60P is not a true performance car. It's a luxury cruiser for the highway.
