  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When turning off the car, the radio and all accessories stay on

Hello, of course I’m on a business trip and have a problem. When I turn off the car, the radio and accessories stay on. The engine and dashboard gauges turn off, and the turn off jingle plays, but the radio and clock stay on and the car dings as if in ACC mode. This also prevents me from locking the car. I tried a couple of times to turn on and off the car, but the problem persists. Any ideas? I’m stopped for lunch, so pulled the negative from the battery and will use the key to get back in. Thanks.

I reconnected the battery after being isolated 45 minutes, and the car is back to normal. Really strange.

Maybe not. The system was rebooted when you did that. Many cars have "retained power" after turning off and everything works for a few minutes or until you open the door. Whatever controls that probably reset and is good, at least for now.

When in doubt: Reboot!

Thank you EdP and Gunkk. This car does some strange electrical things at times.
