  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Where do you get oil changed?

I’m it’s the majority here in using the dealer,

I do it myself and will until I can't. It takes me about an hour or so with a rest period while the oil drains. I use OEM oil filters only and 7 qts of Mobil 1 5w-30. I rotate the tires. I check all fluids that I can, belt, etc. I reinstall all fasteners and replace any that are not reusable. I recheck critical areas like drain plug, oil filter, wheel lug torque, etc. I check tire pressure and adjust as needed.
In other words, I do it right and know it was done right.
My first Genesis was a 2016. I took it to the dealer for it's first service. When I got home, I checked and found retainers missing, tires over inflated, oil cap on but loose. I call and ask what kind of oil they used and found out it was Quaker State Motor oil. I went to another dealer and picked up an oil filter. I changed the oil and filter and went over the car the way I described above (except the tire rotation), and called it a good day because I learned not to take the car to a dealer for service.

In other words "If you want it done right, do it yourself".

My hyundai dealer refused to change engine oil. He said your maintenance interval is 7500 miles , and there is a lot of time to change oil.

He said changing oil too often has no use , and is sometimes detrimental to health of car.

HAHAHA. That is a good one. Changing the oil before 7500 is bad for the health of the car. I have never heard of fresh engine oil damaging an engine.

However, many automaker have had bad reliability issues which trying to extend oil changes. Just look up Toyota oil sludge issues. GM and BMW timing chain guide failures which was mostly was blamed on extended oil change intervals.

dealer so i dont have any problems if having to get warranty work done.

I've always been a 5000 mile guy - good time to get tires rotated etc.

How did you know they didn't replace all the clips?
I looked based on reports on this site that say they are not always put back. looking is not easy to do, you have to get pretty low. Or you can feel around under the bumper and feel the holes.

Also, I get a slight buffeting sound/vibration at highway speeds when not all the clips are there.
