  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have looked through the air filter box in a vain effort to locate the flapper door. Where is this thing!!!!!!!!! 2011 3.8 sedan Nothing looks like the item in the flapper sticky. TIA

On the 5.0 it's at the bottom of the box below the filter.

That's what I gathered from the posters' car info. I went through the entire airbox and found nothing. Am I stuck with this stupid (and dangerous) hesitation? Why the difference in v-6 and v-8's?

Maybe post a picture?

Your profile says you have a v6. It's on the tube where the air comes into the box. Just follow the air flow.

I have a website (Jim Ellis Hyundai)that shows all parts diagrams and can't see anything resembling a flapper in the intake system! The only tube leading in is the one from the radiator top down into the airbox. ?????

NOPE. Mine is like the other illustration with no attachment at the front. I had a problem with purchasing Hyundai mud flaps; turns out mine is an early 2011 build and they changed the rocker panel shape sometime after my unit was built. Did 2009 and 2010 have the flapper?
On another note; in re my NO HEAT posting: same leakage as before-back to the dealership.
