Where to Mount Your EZ Pass Transponder

I know, this is a very important question, but I thought I'd see if anybody else was having the trouble I'm having... Upon taking delivery of our GV60, I mounted an EZ Pass transponder just behind the rear view mirror on the plastic housing which supports the rear view mirror. Seemed like the absolutely perfect place: I can reach it to switch the toggle for HOV, and it doesn't block my view. But the darn thing has fallen off this placement at least twice. I've never had trouble with them falling off windshield mounting even a single time, but I really don't want to mount it on the windshield and cause visibility problems.

Am I just being stubborn? Or am I a victim of faulty sticky tape, which I can (obviously) replace? Where did you mount your EZ Pass transponder? Inquiring minds want to know...

Glad our state switched to a tiny 3" x 1" sticker that sticks to upper/middle inside of windshield. We use to have those giant ugly plastic boxes years ago.

Best place I've found below. You and the rest of your passengers would have to look hard to find it.

The rear passengers can't see it at all without leaning forward and looking up. Shade closes perfectly.

Worked perfectly across all toll plazas in the past 3 months.

You can also search and buy a black cover for it to make it truly invisible.

I would be worried that the summer heat beating down on that glass will basically melt the adhesive over time.

I have always put mine behind the mirror - but on the passenger's side - and up high. Doesn't impact my visibility at all. Can't even see it from the driver's seat.

I put mine on the front end of the roof glass in front of me and tucked it under the trim so I can’t even see it. Works without a problem.

I'll bet that in most cases the transponder is not being detected when mounted in odd places. Your license tags is being read and matched to your account.

In our state, the sticker doesnt work out of state in all locations. We require the plus device to go fully out of state.

I did a similar mount but in the front and I put it under the liner on the glass roof so I could not see it from the inside.

HOV toggle switch? Never heard of that. In NY/NJ there is no such thing. You pay the same ridiculous high tolls regardless of how many people are in the car or the lane you travel in…
