This car was involved in an accident when it had just 1365 original miles on it. Damage was primarily to the rear end but there was some front end damage requiring the replacement of the hood, grill, radiator support and a new radiator. I had wanted to do a conversion of a sedan to a pick up for many years and this is the result. . I have been a fan of the V-8 Hyundai Genesis since they came out in 2009 and have purchased 5 new ones over the years with the most recent being the 2017 G80. We cut off the top of this car about 12" behind the rear door and used 12 ga galv steel with a 12x36 opening for the rear window . It was my intent to make this a real show car but I ran into problems with the paint. I had contracted with a man that had over 20 years body repair experience but the results were disappointing. Then the car was damaged by some vandals (broken rear window and keyed) The combination of those events along with my current health condition (77 yr old and tired) resulted in deciding to sell the car. The bed is from diamond plate aluminum. The car is on an Az salvage title and has a persistent check engine light on, the audio is not working, the electronic parking brake is not working, the gas gauge does not work but Iwill let a younger person take over. The car has less than 1500 miles on it now. It has an Arizona title in my name but it still needs to pass inspection to get it registered
The car drives likes a dream. The 420 HP V8 along with the 8 speed paddle shift automatic is FAST. The 2017 G80 has the same drive train as this car and I don't know if this one is truly faster or the exhaust sound just makes it seem like that but I have had the C7 Corvette and this car compares with the Corvette in my opinion. The reduced weight adds to the performance and the drivability seems to have improved with the shorter overall length.I have no idea of what this car is worth, just that I have invested far more than the asking price. I have enjoyed this project but as I said, I just don't have the energy to see it through. The parts we removed from the car (rear doors, rear seat, etc). will go with the car and I think the buyer can sell them for several hundred dollars on ebay Also, the buyer will receive the original tires and wheels that came on the vehicle since I purchased KIA chome wheels with Continental pro contact tires that had less than 500 miles on them.
