  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm pulling up an C1643 which is a CAN Time-out Yaw Rate & Lateral G Sensor. I believe the part # is 95690-3J100 for "16 sedan. I thought it would be located under the center console but all I see is the air bag control unit.

Any idea of where it can be located?

Didn't even know the car had one!

So, it determines when the car is getting sideways?

Part of ESC/stability control systems. I haven't replaced one, but I think it's located under the driver's seat.

It measures forces on the car in a spherical relation, so it can tell if the car is lifting, sinking, or rotating around an undesirable axis relative to steering or throttle input. It sends commands to the ABS system and the TCS to modulate brakes and throttle to counter the forces if possible.

Ok thank you. I replaced the two front seats myself. You think I was suppose to code the seats to the vehicle with a scanner? That could be why there's a timeout error with the scanner on vehicle?

You would need to interrogate the seats and ESC with a dealer level tool to see exactly what is broken and where. Hyundai GDS will identify the faulty part and show its location and replacement methods...but it has to be plugged into the car to do it.

The Yaw Rate Sensor is packaged in the airbag control module. Which is part# 95910-B1000.

I am taking the vehicle to the dealership to see if they can reset the module or pair it with the vehicle. As I added a used air bag control module to the car.
