If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

i know that there is another thread for this but i havent been able to find it. Im pickin up my 4.6 tommorow and i wanna order the wing wheel caps. Which caps do u order for the 4.6? I though i remeber someone telling me the 18" caps dont fit on the 4.6 wheels and u need to get the 17" caps?

ok, no way im payin that price though. IM going to try to find them on ebay.

You don't have to spend that much. I bought these. They were $90 and look great on my car. They took 10 minutes total to put on all 4, and could have been 5 if I wasn't afraid of breaking the old ones w/ a screwdriver! -lol. I also bought the $15.99 steeling whel emblem which look sfine to me, and I also bought the hood and trunk badges, but have not had the courage to try and put on by myself yet.

Unfortunately these are not the correct wheelcaps for the 18" wheels on the 4.6. They will work but don't look as good as the wheelcaps from KAI. It hurt to pay, but I'm happy I got the right ones.

There seems to be a lot of confusion surrounding the V8 center caps. Hyundai does not manufacture a "wing" centercap for the V8 wheels. The ones you are seeing on KAI are expensive for a reason. They have them manufactured using one set of 17" "wing" centercaps and one set of OEM V8 caps. So they have to use 2 sets of caps to create one set of the "wing" V8 caps.

We are able to get "OEM" "wing" center caps for the V6 model because those wheels are available in Korea and Hyundai manufactures those "wing" caps for the Korean market.

The V6 18" center caps will fit the V8 wheels, but they do not have the same contours as the V8 wheels so they do not "match". The 17" center caps can be modified to fit the V8 wheels, as stated above. There is a thread floating around here detailing the process.

I bought the less expensive ($90) set for my 4.6/Tech before I became aware of the $250 set designed for the 18-inch V8 wheels. After looking at the less expensive caps on my car for a week I decided they weren't going to cut it, so I ordered the $250 set. (After dropping 43 large on the car, $250 felt like chump change.) The new caps look much, much better. Having already replaced the flying H on the trunk lid and steering wheel with Genesis wings, I'm done gussying up my platinum/black machine. I'll give the sack containing the eight replaced center caps and the flying H from the trunk lid to the next owner.

Could any of you guys who did the $250 caps post a picture of them installed? I saw them when i was first looking, and didn't think that much about it, but would like to see the "finished product"
thanks

USPS required a signature for the contoured caps from KDM.... arrrrgghhh... have to wait another day to get them... I will post pixs once installed.. My car is now completely Hyundai "Sterilized"......

Got stopped today in a parking lot by a 20 something and his two girlfriends so they could pose next to the car. I didn't have the heart to tell the guy it was a Hyundai until the girls got back in his Tahoe....

He couldn't believe how nice the car is...

Agreed - I ponied up the $250 and couldn't be happier. I haven't seen the other wheelcaps in person (just pics on this forum), but I do believe the $250 caps look better. Think about it - it's really only a $160 difference when all is said and done, certainly a drop in the bucket after spending $38K.

As I stated in my post above, I didn't care for the $90 caps after I installed them on my 4.6/Tech, so I bit the bullet and bought the $250 set. Here are before and after photos that will hopefully show the difference between the two. To my eyes, however, the difference is significantly more noticeable when actually looking at the wheels as opposed to the pics. The $90 cap is on the left. Click on either to enlarge.

Certainly a subjective issue but I seem to like the first set better. To me the plastic center caps on the expensive set seem to draw the eye to the seam. I think they both look great though!

Installed the contoured Genesis caps today - they look great -- now what to do with the old contoured Hyundai caps -- they should do a "core" return for $90 bucks or something like that...

I have the correct hubs for the 18" wheels and love the way they look. $250 is nothing when you consider we have save about $30K by not purchasing an LS460.
