  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking for guidance and differentiators on the different white color options for the GV70? Alta versus Uyuni versus Matterhorn. Obviously cannot tell on the website, But ready to place order and hoping some owners can share how they might describe the varieties of white. Thank you!

Matterhorn is matte and will require special care (To a point I consider a nightmare). If a bird dropping cooks on the car or you rub too much removing it, you may end up having a shiny spot fir which the only solution is having the car repainted (This is valid for any matte color). If you like the look, just know what you are getting yourself into.

Alta white will be more like a standard white with reflections in it like most car colors.

Uyuni has a pearl effect in it (Metallic colors have aluminium particles in it while pearl whites have tiny particles of glass in them, which reflect light differently). It kind of gives the car a frost effect (Which I find closest to the effect some matt colors like Melbourne Grey have as far as accenting the car's lines go). There would be less reflections of the car's surroundings in the paint too.

You can search videos on youtube of different colors, circling around the car on a sunny day gives the best views of how each paint shows off the car's lines.

My personal favorite of the 3 is Uyuni (Still waiting for the electric GV70 to be available for order...), however that's a matter of taste which differs from one individual to the next, there is no right or wrong here, only what you feel more attracted to. As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

Here's Matterhorn vs Alta:

And here's Uyuni:

I would backup that comment about Matterhorn White FT7. Worst choice ever. Constantly worried about the car getting scratched and lo & behold, we got a scratch when somebody in my family did decided they had enough clearance (they didn't) and smeared the GVT's right front bumper across the entire side of a car. Fortunately, the other car wasn't dented but had a 3ft streak of Matterhorn White smeared across it.

Anyhow, the royal PITA part of this is that Genesis doesn't sell a touchup paint for this color. Genesis service won't do it and I'm not confident my neighborhood body shop will fix it as well.

There are aftermarket touch-up paints for this, but no idea how good the match is.

Siberian Ice is amazing. Transforms from white to light gray to chalk with the sunlight. Sometimes even hints of blue appear.
