  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I haven't driven a manual in 10 years and want to get a nice RWD sporty car. I drove the Genesis Coupe, the 6 cylinder one with stick and shifting felt like an old truck getting into gears.

I also test drove Miata and a used S2000 where the manuals in those are butter smooth. I started looking at 2 seaters because even my wife, at 5'4" was hitting the top of her head in the back seat due to the sloping roof.

I really liked the feel of the Genesis Coupe. Reminded me of an Integra I had 20 years ago. Who picked up an automatic due to the notchy stick?

I still think from what I have read that the majority of owners have purchased manual. It appears that any shifting issues are being addressed by the dealer's with clean swaps of the tranny...whether it's the same production model of tranny who knows at this point. But I think I'm waiting for the 2011's to come out. I can't see Hyundai using the same transmission in the next year's model with all the issues it's had.

Thanks for that answer. I don't know if I can wait that long, for next year to come out. I'm wondering how much dealers are going to have to discount to get the current year off the lot? I see a ton of them at dealers, not many on the street.

after test driving a manual here in miami I went with the auto.....I had the intentions of getting the stick but I was so impressed by the ZF auto that I couldnt resist.
