  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Who has the Genesis GV70 at the TOP of their list for their next vehicle?

Motor Trend has it at 6.4 for the 2.5T and 6.0 for the 3.5TT

Car and Driver has it at 5.3 for the 3.5TT

Either way - they show the 0-60 for the 3.5TT being quicker (and not the same) as the 2.5T powerplant. Not sure where the other site got their data - but seems very suspect.

............somebody got some 'splainin to do !!!

So are you going to say a V8 is faster than a V6 ??? I've stomped a dozen V8s with my Stinger GT AWD , from digs and rolls ..................weight is a huge factor

Same model same manufacturer...yes.

Like I said...common sense.

It’s a tier based product...in regards to value, performance, trim, etc.

If the 3.5TT GV80 is in the 5.3 sec 0-60 range that setup in the GV70 should be comfortably under 5 sec, that's quick. Genesis is claiming 5.1 sec 0-100 KM/hr. Ignore that Carindigo graph it's obviously crapola

^ GV80 3.5TT is 5.1 to 100 km/h (like you said).

That’s about 4.9 sec to 60 mph. Could be better...right?

I think the GV70 will be 4.7 to 60. Two ticks slower than the G70 with the 3.3TT.

Just my thoughts.

From my experience Carindigo is crap and should be ignored. Seems very little on their site can be trusted as correct.

Genesis is claiming GV70 3.5T does 5.1 sec to 100 km/hr. Not sure about the GV80. But yea 4.7 sounds about right. Get a nice exaust note out of it and im all in....

No it’s the GV80 (I could swear).

I might be wrong...starting to lose my mind.

I thought the official release stated that...perhaps it was the GV70. Help !!

Update: C&D got 5.3 sec to 60. Not sure of the Genesis time. Not bad though. So I guess the GV70 is 5.1 to 100.

At this point...I’m enjoying my 3.8 to 60 in my G70 (w/JB4) :)

Hey Guys my apologies , when I was searching for 0-60 times for the GV80 it was the first site that popped up , Having driven the 3.3 TT for that last 3 years I can attest to the unbelievable bottom grunt these things have ( Stinger GT AWD ) not much gets off the line quicker , or 0-60 so the G80 with the 3.5YTT getting low 5s is much more appropriate and I'll put $$ on the GV70 in the sub 5's for sure

Considering that both Hyundai and Kia are getting dedicated electrics with Taycan-level of performance, think it's safe to say that Genesis will as well.
On the bespoke E-GMP EV platform-based vehicles, yes. But for the current G80/GV80/GV70 using existing ICE platforms modified to become EV's, I'm not sure. The next M5 will be electric, so it's not out the realm of possibility for Genesis.

Anyone else think the paneling for the interior looks a bit... Kia Soulish? The outside looks good, like a higher version of the G70, but the interior looks like a mix of G(v)80 and Kia.

Maybe I'm just getting old and less inclined for that design

I'm very interested in some higher performance versions of the GV70 or GV80, I think a high horsepower trim would be a strong option against AMG, etc.

Was going to get an X3 but am holding off for the GV70 now. If there is a real value difference in price and features - I'll happily give up the BMW badge.

I am starting to get worried that it will be priced too high. Apparently...Genesis started off being cheaper than the competition to make a name. Now since they have proven themselves (other than the shit dealer network)...they will probably be priced the same or higher than the competition. I was told this by a Genesis GM.

If the GV70 is over $60k USD...that would put them more than $5k over a fully loaded Q5/X3.

Considering my 2018 G80 3.3T had a sticker price of $58,950, I think the GV70 should be priced no more than $52k-$53k for the sport model. Once Genesis gets their dealerships up and running I could see increasing their prices, but not before.

That’s less than the G70 with a smaller engine and less tech.

That makes zero sense.

According to the Genesis web site:
2021 G70 2.0 T AWD with prestige package --MSRP $47K.
2021 G70 3.3 T AWD with sport package --MSRP $53.3K

There is no reason that a SUV version of the G70 should be priced (much) higher than the sedan. Manufacturers charge more because consumers want SUVs now. Since the demand is high, the price will rise accordingly. I agree that $60K is too high, and Genesis needs to find the "sweet spot" for pricing. If they had a dealer support network up and working, maybe I could see a MSRP close to $60K, but as of now the support system isn't there yet. If I take an Audi A6 in for service, I don't expect to get a VW Jetta as a loaner, then why should I get a Hyundai Kona or Santa Fe when I bring my G80 in? This will change as stand alone Genesis dealerships begin to be built.

I was just researching 0-60 and quarter mile times for the GV80 , both the 2.5 and 3.5 have exactly the same times !! , which I'm assuming will translate to the GV70 as well , that 4 pot is quite an engine !!
I was reading a korean review on these two engines and he thinks the 2.5 is the best for the GV70
