  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How many members here own more than one Genesis at the same time?
Reason being we have them for a reason... sometimes several.
Myself... was looking for my wife.... and bought another for myself because it was good enough for her... no need to research twice for me.

The misconception is... some people who haven't sat in one are hesitant for several reasons... appearing to have misimformed opinions the "pre-'12" models are like. For those who are still on the fence weighing the pro's and cons... go for a test drive for the complete picture.

Besides HIS and HERS lets see another factor in Genesis/Equus ownership.

Do know member Bernie has a few...

you

as for the "pre '12" i know what you're saying but the ride is perfect (for us at least). had i listened to the general consensus around here i would've never set foot in one, but luckily the looks of the car made me check it out and a couple hours later it was in my driveway lol.. I think people just want it to handle like it does and ride like a towncar. this is not the car for them (on smooth roads yes). luckily where i live the roads are in above average condition and even when i go over bad ones it feels the same as my friend's 17k mi E350 (confirmed again tonight after an hour in it). hey, if the ride is improved for '12, god bless them. i can't wait to take a V8 out for a drive and i will report back as soon as it happens, just waiting for my dealer to get a couple in

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Clarification:

The intent was not to imply indiscriminently or to self-boast.

Do recall other members who have more than one and have merely can't recall off the top of my head. Do know there are more out there.
Besides... I own one, and my wife owns the other.

Was trying to show that within the last 8 years... Hyundai has been Jason to the Goliath... which was merely started within my family with a used 03 Elantra for my daughter (recommended best economy used car by Edmunds.com)... hadn't given Hyundai a second thought until then.

If the mods feel otherwise... please remove the entire thread.

As much as I like my Genesis, I don't think I would own two; what would I do with two sedans when I could spend the money on something like a sports car instead? That's just me, but I guess if you needed two large sedans its a good way to go.

I once knew a couple that had matching gold LS400s, identical in every detail except for the messes inside.

We had 2 of the same car once (05 Pontiac Grand Prix). We won't do it again. When you have multiple vehicles, one might be better for a given task than another. When you have the same car you have no choices. Now if all you do is drive it from Point A to Point B, then so be it. But for a guy like me that does a lot of things I don't want the Genesis involved in (dump runs, dog transportation, etc), I have another choice.

Yep, I have two... a 2009 3.6l Tech and for my wife a 2010 3.6l Premium.

When I started to look for a replacement car for my wife, I looked at several cars. Just couldn't find anything of better value than the Genesis. So why tinker...

Thanks for starting this post. Its a good discussion point about people realizing the quality and offerings of Hyundai in recent years.

My wife and I used to be an owner of two Nissan Maximas ('00 SE Auto and '02 SE 6-Spd) and we loved them. We, personally, were not thrilled at how this car evolved over the years so when it was time to buy a big car (ie. when child #3 came along), the Genesis 4.6 was the obvious choice. After driving it for 3 years, it was always a letdown to get in a 255hp Maxima (great car on its own but the gas pedal was a letdown when you got used to 375hp). When it was time to start looking for a replacement for the '02 Max, we need more room for transporting kids for hockey tournaments, etc so a 2nd full size car is a must (we are not SUV nor Minivan people). Short of spending about $15K or more on a fully loaded Infiniti M56 (CDN$), I simply could not find another car that could hold its own vs the Genesis for overall size, perfomrmance, style, quality. As a result, my 5.0 R-Spec is on order and will be arriving in 3-4 weeks and will join the '09 4.6 in the driveway.
