Wide Wheels and Tire Sizing G70

18 lbs for a 18x8.5 is very light weight. To get much lighter than that, you'd have to shell out some serious coins to get true forged stock. Not really necessary IMO, for street driving or even light duty (casual/fun) track use.

The lightest in my 18x8.5 collection is the Enkei RPF1 (see below). Konig Ampliform is the second lightest at 18.5(?) lbs, IIRC. The rest are in the 19-20 lbs range.

Oh I know brother, that's why I said they were ULTRA-light. Any lighter than that, I'd also be worried about load rating. And I know all about serious coin for true forged as I had 3-piece true forged wheels on my C6 Z06 which were $1500/ea (Not to mention $550/ea for the 345/25 rear Nitto's...and that price was some years ago.

Drop dead gorgeous... both the Z06 and the wheels.

Ok, got the tires mounted, new TPMS sensors installed and balanced. TPMS read pretty quick & accurate, drove about 3 miles and then it displayed. These TPMS sensors seem to well exceed OEM quality w/ 8-10 yr battery life, pre-programmed for the G70/Stinger, high quality steel stems, and can be angle mounted for more clearance w/ certain installs. They are here on Amazon for $50

Tires fit perfect in the wheel wells, the 18x8.5 +35 on a 255/40/18 is just inside the fender edge (5mm inside at the widest section of the sidewall), the 18x9.5 +45 on 285/35/18 is right at the fender edge at the widest section of the sidewall. Did not want any poke so this is exactly how I wanted them to fit
Haven't broken tires in yet but initial grip and overall feel is very good, that wider stagger seems to really keep the G firmly planted, and sharp turns w/ those aftermarket sways holds nice & tight.

I got the answer to my own question today. 265/40R19 WILL fit in the front on stock suspension. My wheels are aftermarket, 19x8.5 +30.

You can fit maybe 1 or 2 dollar bills through and that's it . But the most important thing was that they didn't rub. Once the tires come in and are on the car. I'll post some pics

Why go that big? Well I'm running a 305/35R19 drag radial in the rear and the 265/40R19 is the size needed to stay in spec. Also, it looks pretty badass IMO.

So in 23 g70 sp stock 19 inch wheel i can go up to 265/40/19 front?? I want to go 235/45/19 in the front bcs of bad roads but the tire shop told me they wont fit .

I run 20x9 245/35/20 Et 35 front 20x10.5 275/30/20 Et45 rear rides like butter 2020 3.3t sport lowered on eibach pro-kit. Tons of people run 20s

Hey sorry but i have to ask but i want to increase my side wall in on my stock 19 inch wheel like goig up to 245/45/19 which make total ride height increase up to 15 mm more if i ade 100 spacers will there be no rubbing?? Or to wll not fit

I see you bought the Petlas Velox Sport PT741. How do you like them so far? I bought the same, slightly different sizes (245/45R18 front, 275/40R18 rear).

I had them mounted, balanced, and ran them long enough to ensure my TPMS sensors were working and then put my Winter wheel set back on. I did drive them pretty hard for the short time I had them on and they were very smooth, nice grip, and quiet for a Summer tread. I will post back when I get more time w/ them but so far it's all good! Now come on winter, get along now, can't wait for these to go back on!

Been driving on them for the last couple months, so far so good, only moderate city driving thus far though, but a few fun pulls and twisty roads. Seem to have pretty decent grip and since I'm on lighter 18" wheels they are able to break loose easier than the OEM 19" Michelins but not overly so. For the price I don't think you can go wrong, and FWIW I had heard they were shipping out tires w/ older date codes. I received mine last November and they had an 0894 date code, so were made in Feb. 24 so only 8-9 months old. I went through Simple tire, and they were awesome to deal with, would definitely shop them again. FWIW, never mounted other tires on my current 18" set but these tires did take quite a few weights on a couple of the tires, not sure if it's the wheels or the tires but seemed to be a bit more weighting vs. the OEM factory wheels on my winter Continental set, but they do run very smooth and quiet, and have a nice aggressive tread block as well.

Awesome I have a G70 but I want to put these on my MX5 Miata good to hear they are working out well. Would you say they are loud at all or uncomfortable or are they pretty soft?

No, not loud at all, they are a softer compound as all Summer tires are, but they are a 320 treadwear, so firmer than the Michelin Sports, Conti Sports and other super grip Summers that are in the low 200 treadwear ratungs. Probably be a nice choice for that Miata since the Petlas doesn't have as firm a sidewall as the higher tier summers, so that lighter weight of the Miata won't push the sidewalls as hard.

Ha, i love this question. I currently run 19x9.5 +35 and 19x8.5 +35 wheels with a 12mm spacer in front. 285/30/19 tires and 245/35/19 tires. This is absolutely the limit for rear tires especially because it's lowered 1.4" on eibach springs.

On AWD you need to watch rolling diameter tolerances. Mine is 0.6% difference front and rear.

Anyone in this thread, willtheyfit.com was KEY for finding this setup.

I would not suggest running 20" wheels on these cars, will ride terribly and they look way too large.
