  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Outstanding all the way through.
Richard Boyd, Sales Manager, became almost like family. They took great care of me and, Oh, did I mention, had the best price in Houston!
Highly recommended.:)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Glad to hear. I visited Best Hyundai and wasn't impressed.

They claimed that buyers were paying 1 to 2k above sticker for a V8 Genesis and they had put add a tags on each one for pin stripes, tint, "environmental package," etc.

They're trying to sell the Genesis like they sell the Elantra, etc.

Interesting you say that....
I had a good friend at BEST and TRIED to buy from him. I had my Edmunds True Market Value price of $39,207 for a 4.6 with Tech. (www.edmunds.com)
BEST Hyundai ran me and my buddy all around the block. Finally I wrote a personal letter to the owner telling him that "your inmates are running your asylum! If you want to sell me a car, this is the price I will pay." The owner of BEST never bothered to call me, was STILL was $500. over the TMV, and wouldn't budge for me or my buddy....hence, I went to Wiesner who gladly took my money and moved me right into the vehicle I wanted.
As an aside, I wanted a Sapphire Blue with Black and BEST was the only dealer who had one. Richard Boyd of Wiesner assured me that Wisner and BEST often do trades for specially equipped and colored vehicles. He assured me they could get BEST to trade units with them so I could get the color combo that I wanted. Well, when BEST got wind that it was me wanting "their car" at another dealer, they refused to trade with Wiesner.
What a bunch of dickheads at BEST Hyundai in Houston!
Make the short drive to see Richard Boyd at Wiesner in Conroe for the best deal AND the greatest service in Houston. They were unbelievable!
If you prospective buyers have any dealer or Genesis questions, please contact me at grtday@msn.com. I talked to all 13 dealers in Houston before I chose Richard and Wiesner to buy. Buying a car should not be painful.
Thanks and I LOVE my Genesis!

I had been researching new cars for about 5 months and the V8 Genesis was on the top of my list and Best was my first stop. After walking out, I started to contemplate a CPO Lexus or Audi because I could get one for about what they wanted the V8 Genesis for.

I immediately left Best and went down to the Infiniti dealer to check out the G37. Like it, but it was too small. I kept on researching and at this point it was the end of December and there were deals out there, but I felt that I could wait and see what January would bring.

I had the luxury of wanting a new car, not needing one, so I could wait for the right car at the right price. My patience paid off. My daily driver was a Passat and I've owned 3 VWs, so I was considering replacing the Passat with the CC. So, I went back to VW and started checking on incentives and deals and it lead me to a dealer in Austin that offered me $15k off the sticker on a loaded 2008 Touareg V8. It was a deal I couldn't refuse. I've always liked the Touareg, but the price kept me from getting one.

The deal I got more than covers the first year of depreciation. The car had 56 miles at delivery, they hooked me up with a credit union that beat the rate USAA was offering, and they never once said anything about extended warranties, "packages," etc and they didn't try to charge a crazy dealer services fee.

What's irritating about Best is that they participate in the USAA car buying program which should mean that they operate at a higher standard. Not so.

I still like the Genesis, but I just couldn't walk away from the deal on a car I've always liked.

A couple days after I took delivery of the Touareg, I got an email from Best asking that I fill out a credit application. I replied back that they should put the customer first and not have them fill out apps that put needless inquiries on their credit reports which can hurt their scores. I reminded them that it would be foolish to fill out and application when there's no deal on the table. I then went on to tell them about how poor my experience was at Best and how they're making a mistake trying to sell the Genesis like it was an Elantra.

I did get a reply back and they said the manger would be contacting me. It's been about 3 weeks and no contact. They don't care, but they will once the market has matured and they have to be more competitive with Genesis sales.

Best = worst.

Best = WORST

+1 on that opinion!

I too visited Best and talked with a short guy, Chaz. He told me there was no negotiating on price. There was a dealer price sticker listing "enviromental package" for $699. I was told that was fabric guard and clear coat?? $700 for clear coat since the car has a leather interior. The sticker also listed tint and pinstripe neither of which were present.

Thankfully there were other dealers willing to sell me a car. I'm a proud owner of a Titanium Silver 4.6 Tech no thanks to Best!

Congrats George! Welcome to this great group!:welcome::welcome:
My buddy is still at BEST. (Not Chaz). I really wish he would move to a dealer on par with his talents.
I've talked with others who shopped at BEST, having similar experiences to the ones above.
So tell, where did you buy your Genesis and how was the experience?:rolleyes:

Wiesner is one of the most corrupt ownerships in the greater Houston area. Every dealership the family owns uses underhanded tactics that are taught from the top downward. Obviously you were satisfied with your purchased but hopefully you paid extreme attention while in the finance office.

They use a point system for their employees that is based 100% on the surveys distributed from many different sources. As the education system works for the teachers in Texas, so too does Wiesner's system of employee education. The employees are taught to learn the steps necessary to fully satisfy the surveys...not the customer (The Texas education system develops teachers that can get their students to pass the TAKS test, not become fully educated). The Wiesner companies are incredibly trained wordsmiths and paperwork magicians. It would take many paragraphs to explain the precise teaching that occurs for every employee.

Buyer beware and be fully informed before stepping into a Wiesner dealership of any brand.

I believe that every dealership has the potential for these type of tactics, but I can honestly say my experience at Wiesner Hyundai was a very good one. I dealt directly with Richard as well and he did an excellent job. So much so, that I would definitely buy there again. Although I am glad to see that other good option exist.
