  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

She is thinking of trading in as we are relocating to an area where an SUV 4WD will be handy. She has 72k on a 100k warranty. Beautiful car 4.6 all the bells.

I was surprised to find that KBB estimated it $19,900. in excellent condition. Not an expert just trying to help her decide. Thoughts appreciated.

If you are moving to a place with even moderate snow, getting out of an RWD is advisable, unless you want the hassle of snow tires installed in winter. Even then I would not settle for RWD with snow tires if the roads are even slightly hilly.

I noticed that MotorWeek TV show rated the Sante Fe as best mid-size SUV a few weeks ago.

I just made this exact move. After the winter we just had, there was no way I could justify carrying my children around in the very hilly, snowy roads of Connecticut in the R Spec. Granted... snow tires make all the difference, and I had many other reasons to "downgrade", like needing more room, more seats, etc.

I say downgrade, because the R Spec is the best car I've ever owned. I'm very sad I had to let her go.

We shall see how the Santa Fe handles the white stuff. Luckily it's not today (unless you live in Colorado!)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Yes sad to see it go. I think AWD 4WD is mandatory in any SUV which is going off road up hills with or without snow. She likes the Santa Fe but we will miss her Genesis. The sleeper of the class no doubt.

Santa Fe is a lot of fun in the snow. Mind you, those were an OEM all season tires.

This was my 2013 2.0T AWD that I've traded in for an R-spec (we still have another one - Wife's 2014 Santa Fe v6 3.3L 7-seats)

disclaimer: no high speed laws were broken. It was recorded in an enclosed private lot. So, don't feel offended.....or jealous ;)

Cool video... That Santa Fe handles the snow very well... Thanks for posting.

Bad weather and towing is why I have my AWD Denali XL. My Genesis is the highway cruiser and we love it, now with 123,000+ miles, it is still the most reliable car we own.

She had a Denali. Mileage issue now.
