  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

WiFi available?

BlueLink is the connected service running the Genesis app. Hyundai calls in BlueLink and that app will also work on the Genesis.
Hi Ed, I think I know the answer to this question because I've looked everywhere and can't find it. Does the G70 have a "valet mode" whereas I can set the horsepower limits? (valet mode = kids = irresponsible drivers = anyone but me driving it). The only thing I've read is there are tuners that have that type of valet mode. I was hoping the G70 had it without buying a tuner.

the only thing I am aware that "valet" mode does is to alert the driver if a certain speed is exceeded or the vehicle is outside of a GEO fenced location.

it doesn't limit any of the vehicles features like the Valet mode in most high end sports cars.

It also can be set to send you a text or email if certain conditions are met.

speed alert -> exceed set speed
valet alert -> exceed boundary set from vehicles current location. i.e. not more than 1 mile from dealership.
curfew alert -> exceed set time
geo-fence alert -> move outside of set geo-fence

the Valet and Speed Alert are what I used when I take car to the dealer.

I'm using the service for the first time for my first oil change. Dealer supposed to drop off a car and pick up mine at 9am cst tomorrow morning with all the good things I've been spouting about this dealership, how this goes will be the ultimate deciding factor.

I've found they typically exceed the preset speed even when I tell them it is active.

it is what it is.

I've probably said this before, but it is ridiculous that it doesn't tell you how fast the person was going if the speed alert is tripped. Same for where they went if you add a geo-fence

I don't disagree, Lexus didn't tell you either, but GM OnStar does.

There are some systems you can install that will, but they are ODB wired, so you would have to grab the dongle and download the data to a computer to find out.

So after receiving the confirmation notifications for my valet service appointment using the app and even receiving an automatic text this morning at 7am confirming my appointment at 9am, nobody called and nobody showed up. At 10am I decided to drive my car to the dealership myself and ruin my day. When I arrived, they had no record of any appointment and no notification from the app or Genesis or anyone that I had requested and received a confirmed valet service appointment. The issue isn't with the dealership it's Genesis, I'm officially lowering my expectations regarding anything Genesis now. I read all over the place how so many of us are concerned about voiding the car's warranty if we do ANY mods. After today, I'll just do the mods I want and if they ever give me any slack about it, I'll just reference their bad faith and false advertising since they make such a big deal that the service is a value add and part of the price of the vehicle. If Genesis can't get their app fixed by the next time I need to use it, it will be time for a class action lawsuit. They can't say buy this car and you get all this stuff and you buy the car and don't get all this stuff, that's illegal.

Call connected service and see what they say, maybe they'll compensate you for your wasted time and frustration...? Even so, I agree with you on pretty much all points.
