I'm loving my G2, but I must say the infotainment system sucks. The GPS/navigation is terrible and the voice commands are useless, you hit voice command and it spins up for several seconds, then you have to listen to a speech, then you give it a command, it spins up more seconds and finally doesn't understand you. I don't bother using it at all, I have my Android phone docked right below it and find using Google Now much much more efficient and accurate.
I know the Sonata's got Android play, but in googling I also saw some mention that the Genesis would also get it. I know the G2's have 2 different infotainment systems, the smaller one being Android and the larger one being Linux. I have the smaller system and was hoping it would get Android play some day. Seems kind of odd for Hyundai to leave out their signature vehicle.
Barring that, has anyone hooked up a mirroring adapter which let you mirror your Android phone onto the screen? Some of them have hdmi and others have composite. I'm not sure if there are any more ports on the head unit if it's pulled out. I'm wondering if the aux port can be used, from what I understand that carries composite video and audio. I've seen micro usb to aux cables out there for this purpose, just not sure if it would work for mirroring. I'd LOVE to use Waze navigation on the big screen instead of their system.
