In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. I've noticed that wile doing 80 on I-95 i've noticed that i'm getting some unwanted wind noise and it seems to be coming from the wind shield.. Like maybe the seal is bad or not tight.. now this is my first complaint and the only reason i've heard it is because i've been on the phone more and can really hear it... its definitely coming from the front.. anyone else notice this..

I had a similar issue with wind noises coming through at higher speeds. In my case it was driver side door seal. It did solve a lot of sound, but I still feel like wind noise comes through probably gona have it check out next oil change.

Probably the door seal...look for deformed rubber along the door or only drive up to 79mph :=)

I had my door seal replaced also. Solved the issue. It also helps to close the door pretty firmly.

Did they replace it because its a frequent issue or did you have to purchase one?

I'm having the same issue with my font side driver door?

i remember seeing a thread about a product to put on the rubber for a better seal... Looks like they could use a good coat.. I'm due for a oil change (first one) so i'll have them look at it... I do hear it on the drivers side door but also seems like its on top of me by the windshield..

thanks for the replies..

Mine was replaced under warranty. I had a bit of an air leak/sound coming from the drivers b pillar. The passenger side was dead quiet. On my first service, it was "No Problem Found". I brought the car back, and test drove with the tech. He was able to hear the issue, which was admittedly subtle, but definitely present.

Once the seal was replaced no more noise. At first I really had to close the door hard or it wouldn't latch. Now it closes easier, but I find that closing the door firmly makes for a better seal.

This car is extremely quiet, which makes any noise of this type stand out.
I'd suggest riding with the tech so you can point our the noise. Any car will have some "hushed" wind noise caused by the mirrors, and the car moving through the air. If you have an actual leaky seal, that sound is noticeably different.

I hear the wind noise from either my front left or right doors. However it seems to vary based on the direction and strength of outside wind currents.

When I hear it next to my left ear, I can press my fingers against the window frame at the top rear, where the glass slides into its seal and pull or squeeze inwards. The noise level will be reduced significantly as long as I can maintain my squeeze inwards.

I haven't convinced myself yet that replacing the seal or adjusting the door is necessary, because the frequency of the wind noise will vary based on outside conditions. There are times that at 80mph or greater it will be as quiet as a tomb inside.

I may try convincing my local dealer to allow me to drive one off the lot on the same stretch of road and get a noise comparison.

I appear to have the same door seal issue. There is a very slight air leak noise that is definitely distinguishable from the normal wind noise on the passenger side of the car.

There's a overpass I go over every day on my way into town and once when the wind hit it just right the door seal made a "whistle" noise. Just waiting for my next oil change to get it checked out.

Bumping this thread to see if anyone else has this wind noise issue. It seems to be worse at faster highway speeds, and in crosswinds. Folding in the mirrors while driving did not eliminate the noise.

I have the same issue. I am going to try and have the dealer look at it/replace the seals when I go for my next oil change

I have wind noise from the driver's-side window. My dealer adjusted the window seal, but did not replace it. It did fix it that day but, within a few days of use, the wind noise was back. I'll take it back in soon.
I can offer one diagnostic tip. On my window, if I lowered the window just a bit, the wind noise would stop.
I should add that this is a Genesis G80 2017. But, I believe it's the same door and frame as the 2016 Genesis.

Hello, I just bought a 2018 g80 yesterday. On my way home from the dealer I noticed this exact issue with my driver door. I initially thought the window was ajar, but it was not. I can only hear it at high speed on the interstate.

I have it, it even shows up around 40mph. I'll wait till i have other issues before bring it back in.

I believe the wind noise is caused by the side mirror. I have wind noise on the passenger side. Had door seal replaced, did not solve the problem. However, on the driver's side mirror, the flat inside of the mirror is slanted slightly outward away from the window. On the passenger side, the flat side of the mirror slants inward. This causes air to be forced against the side window causing the noise. Either the mirror needs to be reset in the door or the auto open mechanism needs adjusting.

I'm strongly considering purchasing a 2019 G80 Sport. I currently have a Lexus GS 350 and think I like Genesis better. In most regards I like Genesis, and although it's a quiet and smooth luxurious ride, when I get on the freeway at higher speeds I hear wind noise coming from I believe the drivers side mirror area. I believe it's louder than my Lexus which disappoints me. This forum has helped me know I'm not crazy, and will be discussing this issue with the dealer.

I get excessive wind noise past 140mph :(

In all seriousness there seem to be a lot of issues with seals for this car, looks like the material they used may not be the best and a lot of people are reporting seal issues for cars a couple of years old.

My '15 had this issue until I thoroughly cleaned all the window seals where the window makes contact when closed. Doesn't seem like that would work for a new one but you never know. Very cheap to try. If you can afford a Genesis you can afford dish soap, water, and rag. ;)
