  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi everyone,

Recently, my gen 2015 3.2 started giving in a wind noise subjectively somewhere from the front of the roof even with 45 mph. Also, I can hear the sound of birds outside and cars that move away (and that are pretty far). I remember that before, my gen was dead quiet inside, even on a highway. Does/did anybody have the same issue?

Did you put new batteries in your hearing aid?

Wind noise is often from a bad seal or gap on a door or window. Is the roof properly closing? Would take a good sized gap I'd think to suddenly hear birds.

haha - it's a good one.

I would assume that there must be some gap but microscopic -- I cannot identify anything with a naked eye. Any advice on how I can identify a weak spot? Roof works well but it's true maybe it doesn't close 100%, just 99.8%?

I would start with the cheapest option - open your roof, clean and lubricate all rubber you can see and reach. I also assume that 3.2 was a typo ;-)

I actually lubricated it according to official repair manual but still no effect.

3.8 yes;]

There's some stuff that some guys here use to lube their roofs with that's supposed to be really good and you can get it from Amazon. Can't remember what it is though. I was going to get some myself...

that would be great, thanks! Hopefully, someone can drop the name here!

I've used Krytox GPL 105 or 106....seem to be very similar for rubber seals on doors/sunroof. They are not cheap but do seem to do a good job keeping the rubber from drying and cracking. This is an oil type lubricating product for rubber seals. I use it once in the spring then again in the fall with good results. There may be others on the forum that may agree or use something else

I use Gummi Pflege Stift on all my seals. Seems to work well
