  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I love my 2011 sedan. It’s got 210k on it. A nice deal on a 2009 with 160k popped up and went to look at it with my son. He needs a car. Main issue is window gets stuck on driver side. It’s is like the velvet sleeve had come undone on the inside of the window where it attached to the door and it’s causing the window to get stuck and it operate properly. If this was an easy fix I’ll probably pick this up. Any advice? Thoughts? Auto glass store? Dealership? YouTube ? See pic. Not sure if that is helpful or makes issue clear

I would ask the seller if you can remove the inner door trim. Could possibly be a simple fix or adjustment? Check out the website "hyundaipartsdeal.com" and you can probably find the replacement parts.

Looks like this is the part

Do you know how this is attached? Do you remove the door panel and it attaches to the door panel? Can’t seem to find any video on that.

I think there is a good possibility that if I pulled this inner rubber piece out the window would operate fine work fine.

Appears to attach when the door card is removed from the illustration.

I had similar problems with the rear windows on my 2012. It turned out that both window regulators had broken and had to be replaced. Pretty much all the moving parts of the window are contained on one big assembly that has to be replaced as a unit. The part isn't too expensive but it takes a fair amount of labor to remove and reinstall. The whole job set me back about $700 per window at a trustworthy independent repair shop. The service manager's comment was that the Genesis has a lot of plastic parts in the mechanism that tend to get brittle and break over time.Genesis Window Regulator.JPG
