  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Tomorrow is window tinting for my car. Just in time for summer. I'm going with Llumar vs. Titanium to avoid the metal in the film. Looking forward to cooling things down a bit inside the cabin for the high heat days.

Had mine done today. Went with the 5% Llumar. Was worried about it being too dark, but I like it. Only issue is minor reflection is the side view mirrors.

A (not so great) pic of the 5% tint

Llumar is a brand that offers several different kinds of tint film (dye, metallic, ceramic, etc). So just saying Llumar doesn't tell you much about what film you are getting.

Llumar is a good brand. The same company that owns Llumar also owns Formula One which is their premium brand, and Formula One Pinnacle is one the best ceramic films on the market.

Please post some pics when you get it back, and the wing on the rear too!

So is Ceramic the kind to get to avoid interference with the electronics?

Yes, ceramic is the preferred type of tint film. It reflects heat (not just light) like metal, but is non-metallic. It is sometimes referred to as nano-ceramic, due to the extremely small size of the particles suspended in the film.

Even office and residential building window tinting has moved to ceramic, due to the prevalence of mobile phone, and other wireless devices.

No gangsta look for my car. I went with Llumar Air Blue 80 ceramic tint. Better performance than 35% and a much clearer view out.

Tinting is now complete. I opted for the ceramic tint which costs double the dye tint. The protection from heat benefit is 4 degrees different and the UV protection is the same. The owner also shared with me that dye tint used to be that it both bubbled and turned purple over time but that dye tint had dramatically improved and that the newer dye tints will hold up for 12 years.

Thought I'd pass along the info for those interested in tinting. :)
