  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I got a crack in my windshield and checked with dealer on replacement. They stated its and extra $120 to re-calibrate windshield camera. They are both OEM windshields so why would it need to be re-calibrated? Has anyone else had to do this?

Yes, there are other threads that mention it. If, during the install the camera gets moved it must be re calibrated. It is the way to do the job right, not just an excuse to bill you. Your insurance should cover it if you have glass coverage.

Some states require insurance have full glass coverage. If you do not have it, the cost is minimal and well worth the few bucks, as you can see from the price.

Thanks EdP. I just ran across those threads but it wouldn't let me delete my orig post. The others referred to G80 but I suppose they are the same, I have 2015 Sedan.

Interesting... I kinda had a feeling that my windshield had been replaced before I bought the car because the wipers were not indexed properly - that might be the reason that my auto wipers don't function as intended.

My windshield had been replaced with aftermarket glass and the rain-sensing wipers did not work properly. The dealer said it was because of the glass. Subsequently had to have the windshield replaced and insisted on OEM glass ($2,000 list price for Ultimate with HUD!). Took a video to show the wipers still didn’t work properly. Dealer replaced sensor which fixed the problem.
