  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Granted, the roads are a mess in the New York City area, but I've had this car for less than three months and I have numerous scratches and small chips on the front windshield. There must be at least 3-4 scratches and 15-20 chips that refract the sunlight.

Could this be due to defective glass, or perhaps the angle of the windshield?

As a side note, on most days, the top of dash board reflects back on the windshield. This can get annoying on long drives. Sunglasses eliminate the reflection.

I'm firmly of the opinion that ALL window glass is made much more cheaply than in years past. Hence the ease with which today's glass is damaged. Just replaced the front glass on my wife's 2015 Lexus. The don't make 'em like they used to (said the old fart!).

In an effort to save vehicle weight perhaps the exterior glass covering the middle layer lamination is thinner and more easily chipped with today's cars. I think what we (especially in the north east) are experiencing is a faster rate of highway infrastructure decay. I'm hearing the sound (the one that makes one wince) of debris hitting my windshield far more often these days. I blame that on the crumbling highway system which is sending more broken highway junk airborne and into our windshields than we used to get only a few years back .
