  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I drive a genesis sedan 3.8 2009. My wiper blades hop, streak, and skip and have replaces blades several times. Dealer says no one else makes blade to fit 2009 genesis, but after some internet review, I wonder if valeo blades will work. So, have others had this problem? Anyone know if valeo blades will fit 2009 genesis? i have tried rain x but would not fit wiper arm.

Everyone makes blades to fit the Genesis. They all come with a number of adapters for different cars including Genesis. Rain X blades fit too. Both wipers are different sizes.:D

I put Goodyear blades from Costco on ours and it was a HUGE improvement.

Get the Valeo Ultimate 900s on Amazon.com. No hop. No thump. No streaking. I bought some aftermarket ones that thumped when then the wiper switches direction at the top on the driverside.

And - they are not too bad on price.

Just put on Michelin Stealth from Costco. Easy to do. Driver's is 24" Passenger is 20".

+1 The Valeo's are great, and they have them to fit any Genesis

i ordered a pair of ultimate valeos from amazon which are exact fits; this is my second pair; so far so good.

I have a now long history of issues with my wipers....2009 hyundai genesis. They hop, scrape, streak and squeak. i posted in April and followed recommendations. Here's what I've done so far:

clean wiper blades and windshield; replaced blades several times including once with valeo blades which did not solve problem, and am now correcting a very slight scratch on windshield which dealer tells me might be an issue. Windshield guy says this will not solve problem and that this type of wiper system has been a problem due to insufficient pressure to hold wiper to window surface.

So now dealer is telling me this problem may not be repairable. My car is still well within warranty. I know hyundai changed wiper system on 2010 genesis but not sure why. My questions are:

1. Has anyone else heard there is a problem with this type of wiper system?

2. What recourse do I have if dealer cannot repair and car is well within warranty? Where do I go beyond dealer to address this problem?

Thank You,

DC

Factory blades suck. I use alot of rainX and it is better, but they still suck. I bought rainX wipers that were the right size, but I can not see how they can be adapted to fit onto the Genny. I will try one of the other brands mentioned here.

You can contact HMA (Hyundai Motor America). The list of regional offices is located in the rear of the Owners Manual.

I finally replaced the factory blades. I used Bosch ICON blades that I bought at AutoZone. What a dramatic difference. I still use RainX, but these new blades are awesome, not one streak, smear or speck left behind. I am an idiot for not doing this sooner.

RainX wipers are great but their universal mounting clips suck. I have lost my second wiper while driving down the highway in the rain. There is a little tiny peice of plastic that holds the wiper in the clip that breaks very easily.

I just purchased the Bosch Marathon wiper blades for my car, went to install them and came to the conclusion it's just not going to happen. I had purchased them at Wal Mart and their little machine that matches up your car to their products said it should work. There goes $30. I wanted the RainX but they didn't have the 20" size, only 24" :S We're expecting some crappy weather today and figured how horrible the blades have become after the last couple of snows that I'd go ahead and replace them.

I was having zero issues with my wiper blades, matter of fact I was very impressed how quiet they were. Then I had to get all smart and fancy so I ordered a pair of new wiper arms/blades and put some hi-tech glass protectant/repellent. Things went very very well until the weekend came (no garage ATM) and decided to wash my windshields......... OMG, they haven't been right since. I'm talking about washing them with all the regular cleaners, some of the higher end cleaners, used vinegar and water all teh way to 30% vinegar to 70% water and clean the blades each time also.
Nothing has help fixed the chattering I never had until I got fancy with the protectant/repellent. Yes, I've changed different blades/arms 3 different times.
I'm going to blame it on the repellent as it would only make sense, so, any ideas how to get the repellent all the way off and start over?

Try glass polish - I use this and it works well: http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/glass+polish+8+ounces.do?sortby=ourPicks&refType=&from=Search

Go back to OEM blades.

I purchased these wiper blades from www.rockauto.com. They are Trico blades (Trico 162413 n 162013) packaged for NAPA. They are stated to be OEM blades, but have a little different look to them n IMPO look better than the original factory blades. The best part is the cost ($15.71) delivered to my door for both blades.
These guys have just about everything you need to maintain ur ride and the prices are unbelievable. I purchased a cabin air filter (BECK/ARNLEY Part # 0422147) n an engine intake air filter (FRAM Part # CA10656) from these guys for $26.84 delivered. They offer replacement parts from different manufactures.
