  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I feel like compared to all the other cars I've driven the wipers in the G70 had been the worst. I'm not sure if this happens because the wipers are locked at the bottom which makes dirt build up on them or it's something else.

Maybe a month after buying the car new I started noticing the wipers leaving streaks more than usual when I use them, using the wiper fluid usually makes things more messy.

I have tried cleaning the windshield manually but the wipers would keep leaving streaks shortly after, I have decided to buy new wipers and I got a good quality rain x wipers. But it looks like I'm having the same issue.
.
I find myself always cleaning the windshield manually at gas stations, I feel like the wipers thrives keep getting dirty more than usual compared to other cars.

Anyone else?

Edit: I will add that I've noticed the wipers do a very poor job cleaning the windshield generally too.

I never really had issues with mine. Occasionally you'll have to wipe the wipers too, otherwise whatever is stuck on there can leave streaks or scratches.

It's the windshield, not the wipers, especially considering you've already replaced the wiper blades.

YouTube how to super clean the outside of a windshield, then apply a good windshield coating.

If you're in central Ohio, I'll do it for you. I already have all the items needed.

Is this something needed for a new car? I live in an area where it rains a lot and usually the windshield stayed very clean with all my other cars but this one.

I don’t have that problem with either of my cars, however here is what do.

1. Every so often, when I feel like it, wash my blades with soap and water. Also, I sometimes dab a small amount of Rain-X on a cloth and wipe the blade. (I never use
Rain-X on windshield. Once you start using it, you must continue using it or else the wipers will start to chatter).

2. I clean windshield as follows (when I feel like it) scrubbing with a good windshield spray cleaner. Wipe dry.
Clean a second time eith a car Detailer. (I use ICE Detailer but others probably as good). DO NOT USE SPRAY WAX, as it smears. Clean a third time with the same windshield spray cleaner you used the first time.
(I sometimes use newspaper in this final wipe).
Never have streaking or chatter problems.

My “wipers thrives” are easily cleaned.

I use the Clay bar method and follow it with a Paste Wax. The wax lasts about 6 months, and I don't have to use the wipers for a light rain when on the highway.

Clay bar the windshield. Its got gunk on it.
