  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Is your front hood and trunk emblem the same size? I ordered from Korean Auto Imports, they sent me the trunk and hood emblems and both are the same size. (on their website they advertise new larger size emblems, added to stock sometime this year 2012). For the hood emblem they removed/cut the pins from the emblems for ease of installation.

Are your debadged emblems the same size? The hood emblem is supposed to be larger than the trunk emblem.

I know that for 2009-2011, the correct front emblem is larger than the correct rear one, and more important the front emblem is slightly curved to fit the contour of the hood. Contact the vendor to get clarification, or a replacement or refund.

2009-2011 or 2012 - makes no difference.

Rear badge has the posts that fit perfectly into the rear trunk lid. This badge is smaller than the front, which is definitely angled due to the position on the hood.

They gave you the wrong wing for the front. Sorry mate.

Both wings from KAI are 6.25" tip to tip and the shields are 2" high. One has the posts cut off for hood mounting. Mine fit the trunk perfectly and I chose to keep the other postless one for my office, rather than the hood because I prefer it without a badge. What do your badges measure, Ruissimo?

Rear: Same as yours.
Front: 7.25" wing tip to wing tip, 2.5" shield height

2009-2012 are the same. They both should come in sealed OEM Hyundai packaging and both have different part numbers. The trunk emblem fits the trunk holes. The bigger hood emblem fits the Korean Genesis hood holes however since we do not have those here you need to grind down the pins on the hood emblem and position it yourself.

The guy you bought them from is obviously using the trunk emblem and grinding the post down for you for use on the hood. Not only is it smaller therefor I assume less expensive, the posts are also much smaller and therefor easier to grind down. I cannot see how the trunk emblem will conform perfectly like the original hood emblem just due to the different curvatures of the body panels.

Personally I would cry foul and have him send you the right stuff. In this case, bigger is better. :D

I'm not sure why I forgot I had these... thanks for the reminder!

Seems good reason to call out Korean Auto Imports for advertising and delivering bogus goods.

I just added a hood badge from my dealer's parts dept yesterday. It came in a package with a trunk badge although they were wrapped individually. They appeared to be about the same size but I didn't measure. Both had the same part number. The posts on the hood badge were much different. They had a guy that would drill holes to install the front badge but I opted to go to another dealer to avoid drilling holes. The other dealer removed the posts and taped it to the hood.

The badge packaging looked similar to what Ruissimi posted. I'm guessing there are several different emblem versions out there. Some real, some bootleg.

OMG I would have shot someone if they drilled holes in my Genny. Talk about bumbling idiots.

Thank you for the response. The one Korean Auto Imports sent me measures 6.25 from tip to tip of wings and 2 inches high. I will call and follow-up with them.

Save yourself the time and just send the badges back. They gave you what they have. They do not stock a 7.5" front badge. They are obviously modifying the 6.5" rear badges and representing them as front badges. Members of this site should shun Korean Auto Imports aka Sherwood Automotive.

Do NOT BUY Wing emblems from Korean Auto Imports. When I tried to return the emblems, they are arguying that the items are correct. They never return my phone calls or respond to email. I will open a dispute with PayPal resolution center.

When I see something like this, I just think, "can't be just the wings..."

I've had them on my bookmarks for a long, long time. They have a great selection... but without service to back it up, I'll probably be using them for research, never for purchases. This isn't the first time I've heard of issues with them.

Sorry, brother. Good luck though!

I lost hope in them back in December whenI asked them if the Prada lights work with the AFLS. There response was
We cannot say for sure

So in other words they don't even know if they work yet the sell them? Bunch of crap if you ask me" These do cost upwards of $1500.
