  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Winter Tires

Well, I had a used set pop up at a really good price and ended getting them.
I'll try to mount tomorrow, as we have alot of snow and now also ice.
If they don't suit the car, burn barrel it is.
They look great, hope they work out.

Now driving around on the Hakkapeliita 9's for a couple of days, I'm in love with the winter setup.

Between the GV and the tires, it's my favorite combination that I have owned.
No issues with rubbing etc. due to going from a 235 to a 255 section width and it looks 100% better to say the least.

The only downside is that my truck is only being used a small portion for my commutes, even with new toyo at3 tires.

I own the GV70 Sport Plus which is the top Canadian model. For snow tires I elected to go with the dealer supplied alternative:
Rims – as described on the www.genesis.ca - lightweight Flowformed 19" G005 Metallic Black coloured alloy wheels.
Tires – was expecting Pirelli Scorpion Winter 235/55R19 as specified on the web site but received Continental VikingContact 7 235/55R19 H XL
Also included - Mounting and balancing, tire pressure monitoring sensors (TPMS), nuts, and Genesis-branded centre caps.

Genesis.ca quotes C$3,089 but I ordered some time ago and my price was somewhat less.
These were installed today so I can't comment on snow performance.

I'm in Canada too and Have a Sport plus. Those rims are sold by Fast wheels. When i was getting my oil change they had those tires and I saw the tag from the manufacturer. I went to their website and chose a model that I liked and send it to my mechanic. Rims + bridgestone blizzak dm-v2 + sensors came to $2700. Tax and fess included.

I was hoping to split the difference between the 19" and the 21" and get 20's but it seems I would have to get a lower profile than I was hoping.

We just had our first snowfall and the awd is really impressive in the car. The stopping with the oem tires is brutal, I still can't belive manufacturers do not offer at least 3 options upon new vehicle purchase. Something to the tune of sports orientated, all weather and low rolling resistance for individuals concerned with fuel economy. This should be offered on all wheel sizing that is being supplied.
Also, I haven't had a response to my question on up sizing the width of the tires on the oem wheels, I'm assuming no one has gone down that road yet?
Which oem tires did you have?

My comment above: "Tires – was expecting Pirelli Scorpion Winter 235/55R19 as specified on the web site but received Continental VikingContact 7 235/55R19 H XL"

20Genesis15 response: "The Continentals are cheaper than the Pirelli's - I hope the price you paid reflected that."

I paid very close to what CarlEightySix paid above. I had two warrantee items done at the same time so I was able to take advantage of the Genesis Valet Service. The two warrantee items were:
1) software update for the missing "smart posture care" module.
2) replacement of rear door weather stripping.

If I was going with a 20" I'd go to a 265/45/20
Our vehicles are under sized in terms of tires and since it does get compared to a Porsche Macan in styling, why not fill up the wheel wells to match.
I'm not sure what wheel offset or spacers you would need if any.
