  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I need to remove the wiper arms on my 2012 Genesis Sedan. I see the nut under the rubber cap on the wiper arm but even after I remove it I still cannot get the arms to come off? Am I missing something? I feel like if I pull any harder then I am I will break something.

Thanks for the help.

Tony,

i'm right there with you. I can't even get any slight wiggle from the Wiper arms. I too am afraid to put and more force on them for fear that something will break.

I did finally get them off. I went to Orileys Auto Parts and borrowed a gear puller. It popped them off.

Good luck and take your time.\

Cheers!

The genny shop manual recommends a "trim type" pry bar to get those suckers off.

Out of curiosity why are you removing the entire arm?

People remove the arms to re-paint them -- I did -- on my aging Sonata

Kind of figured that may be the case but these cars aren't that old so I wouldn't think they would be faded enough to merit a repaint.

I had t lift the Dang cowl cover and loosen the nuts off of the wiper motor bracket and then take it all out . I then had to use a rubber mallet to tap those darn wiper arms off. What a buzzkill. I broke the cowl on the edge and I had to order a new one...pretty expensive stuff.
Let this be a cautionary tale that, those suckers are pretty damn hard to pull off...

Someone asked the question of why remove the wiper arms, only way to get to the wiper motor.

My wipers won’t move all the way.. they are stuck and have a jerky motion at base of windshield
