Hello all,
Looking for some help with my 2015 3.8 sedan.
I came out last week to a dead battery on my car, which somehow died overnight. Not thinking anything of it, I charged the battery back up and drove off to work. At noon I came out to grab some lunch, and saw the wipers on my car running, on my locked, un-started car (there’s what killed my battery!). I quickly got in the car to try to shut them off, flicking the wiper stalk up and down to no avail, they just kept on wiping regardless of what I did. So I popped the hood and pulled the wiper fuse (30amp) so that they don’t’ run all the time and kill my battery again.
The question is: how do I even diagnose this? My first thought was to check the wiper relay, thinking it had stuck open, but looking at the various fuse panel diagrams for my car, I can’t even find a wiper relay on a schematic. Just a 30A fuse and 10A fuse both labelled as wiper.
Additional searching said that it could be the park sensor in the wiper motor itself has failed, and it continually trying to park itself.
Anyways – any help or thoughts on how to start diagnosing the issue is appreciated.
Thanks!
