  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Wireless charging

If you notice, MCC says no cords, nothing to plug in. That can't be CarPlay with no cords on a G70. So somehow they've gotten album art apparently. I assumed it was because of using iPhone rather than Android.
I'll have to check when I get back but no album art with Spotify or Google Play Music. The AVRCP version doesn't support it. But I don't have any local files on my phone to test.

Twice now, my wife has placed her iPhone 8 plus on the wireless charger, and the phone has dialed 911. Not good! Has anyone else experienced this?

Have you tried putting the phone on any other wireless charger? That would help determine if it is a charger, phone, or wife problem.

I know if my phone is locked I can still make emergency calls.

It’s cool. Don’t sweat it. When you get a new one you can try it out!

I tried charging my iphone 6s with a usb cord in the car yesterday and it recharged more quickly than my previous vehicle. I was not using the phone while charging but it was strong enough that I am sure I could have the phone on and operating and still maintain charge and likely increase charge. Plenty good enough. 6s is the last phone to accept the new update for iOS this month so in the next months I will buy another. I always buy used but stay current, though not newest, with the technology.

I think the USB is about 1.5 to 2 Amps.

Love it. Many (most?) cars come with lower output USB outlets and so charging is pitifully slow compared to wall chargers for phones with fast charging. The G70 has no such issue. Even the wireless charging pad in the car can reasonably keep up with my desk wireless charger!

in case anyone is interested, the iPhone 11 (regular) will fit in the wireless charging cubby and the door closes. also, with these (below) 90 degree lightning connector cables, you can plug it in for carplay and still close the door, too. there are like 1-2 mm to spare, but it does it without any forcing or cramming. i'm betting that the iPhone 11 pro max will not fit with the cable as it's 7.1 mm longer (according to apple) than the regular 11. the 11 pro max MIGHT fit just for wireless charging though. it looked like there was about a centimeter of space when the regular 11 was in there without the cable.
