  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Wondering how VIP service experiences are panning out for folks

I am not making any judgements. You yourself said “I had set it myself at 85 to see how it worked (and as a reminder to reign myself in if I was too "spirited" as a warning pops up on the Nav screen in car as well)“ You are a spirited driver that wants to be reminded when the go over 85. You wouldn’t have set it if it wasn’t likely to happen. If you just wanted to test it you certainly could have done so at say 65mph.

Wrong (and yet another reason why you should keep your judgements on what other people do to yourself).

You could only set the speed alert from a PC (not from the mobile app or a mobile browser). Therefore, to avoid having to go back and remember to reset it on the PC (which I likely would forget to do), I just set it at a much higher speed that I ever normally drive. That way I was able to:

- Test that it worked (so I did intentionally exceed 85 MPH to test it in both cars)
- Not worry about going back and resetting it on the PC
- Not be bothered by constant speed alerts if I had set is at 65 mph (as you suggested) as that is a pretty commonly achieved speed any time you are on a highway
- Get a reminder if, for some reason, I did drive that fast (very rare as much over 75 mph is a guaranteed ticket where I live)

You don’t even have a Genesis now and yet You still feel the need to justify your spirited driving . Me thinks the poster doth protest too much.

BTW you can set the speed on the mobile app now. Maybe not in your version.

Nope - I just don't like people misrepresenting what I say. I was merely providing my direct experience with how dealers may drive your vehicle when you are not around, when you decided to take it off topic and post silly assumptions (and wrong assumptions). Also - I don't have the app anymore so no idea of what it does or does not do now...

If it were me and they wouldn’t do Valet on the return, I wouldn’t give back the loaner until they delivered my car. Most dealerships don't want a customer's car sitting there longer than necessary because it’s taking up space that could be used for a new car.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
We are in Austin TX and the north/south toll road has an 80 MPH speed limit. The more rural sections are 85. The road was built for it and it is fine as long as traffic isn't too bad. They don't give out too many speeding tickets out either....

Had my first service pickup today. Pickup was 5 min before scheduled time which is perfect in my book. So far so good....

I brought in my 2015 Genesis for service today. I was offered the concierge pickup, if I wanted it. My loaner is a 2018 Genesis G80 3.8 with 1600 miles on it. The loaner is the middle trim level. So far, so good. I will give more feedback once I get the car back. I am using Round Rock Hyundai in Round Rock Texas. My service advisor is Brandon Fuller.

Well local dealer is picking my car up via the Valet service Wed. Fingers crossed.

Sooooo the pick up half of the valet service went OK. Car was picked up right on time. They dropped off a CPO Santa Fe 😙. The guy told me they sold the one Genesis they had used for valet. Ok not a super huge issue but I do think Genesis is going to have to work to step up their game and provide a loaner that is at least comparable.

Oh about 2 hours later I received a call from one of the salesmen who asked if they could bring another car to swap out the Santa Fe because that car was actually in the process of being sold lol.

Apparently there are a few kinks to be worked out. They called to arrange for me to get my car but by the time I got the message the service department was closed. Hopefully drop off tomorrow goes smoothly.

Update. My car was returned as scheduled and was spotlessly clean. I even made a somewhat last minute change to the return address. For my requested map update, the SD card needed to be ordered. The service guy told me when its received they will come out to install it. So based on this first experience, I'd say I think I can get used to this VIP service lol.

My service experience went very well. I had a 2018 G80 loaner. When the service was done, I dropped it off and picked up my Genesis in under 5 minutes. The best service experience I have had.

I suspect the quality of Genesis services may vary wildly depending on the resources of each individual dealership and their individual perspective on the concept of customer service. In my case, all previous experiences with my dealership have been sub-par. This is primarily due to poor attention to detail and lack of follow through. I was not looking to my first use of their VIP services. (Kearny Mesa Hyundai/Subaru/Genesis in San Diego, Ca) I am fortunate to live in a metropolitan area with several Genesis dealerships nearby. I have been working with my dealership on a technical issue with the HUD, but had already decided to try and switch dealerships once the problem is resolved. As it happens, my 2018 G80 was due for its first service. So I had my first service pickup today from the same dealership. I didn't expect much based on past experiences. But I have been pleasantly surprised so far.

The valet called well ahead of schedule and arrived promptly. He was very professional, probably in his mid-20s, and apologetic that he could not bring a Genesis loaner. (He explained that the dealership only has two, and both were in use. So he brought a Elantra instead. Definitely not a premium car. But it was clean and new, and will work just fine for my tastes.) Hearing some of the potential issues on this forum, I set the speed alert on my car. It has not been violated.

I don't expect my service will be completed for a few days hence. But I was again pleasantly surprised when my adviser called around 7pm to give me an update and let me know how things were progressing.

I'll update when my G80 is returned.

Hi All... I've got a 2018 G80 Ultimate 3.6 RWD from Keyes Genesis in Van Nuys. I've had the car in a couple of times for service and a flat tire problem and have used the VIP Concierge service effortlessly... they have come and picked up and delivered the car washed and beautiful. I am totally thrilled with the service and have not a worry about the personnel nor the quality of service. Keyes Genesis is a great dealership that I would highly recommend to any who are interested in becoming a part of the Genesis Family.

Totally enjoyed the Genesis Event on Dec. 1st at the Playa Studios in Culver City California. Way cool meeting the Genesis team and the food was excellent and parting gifts were High End. Can't wait to go to the next one.

Best
Ernie

Ernie,
I bought my G90 at Keyes in Van Nuys and I took it for its 7,500 valet service there a few months ago. I agree with all your comments. They have it all together and to me represent what a Genesis dealership should be.

I live in Rockton, Illinois which is a mile from the Wisconsin border. In order to get any kind of deal, I had to go to the Chicago suburbs, 60 miles south-east. I bought my car from Rosen Genisis in Algonquin Illinois. I feel I got a good deal. That being said I am 60 miles from Rosen. Yet, they said they would honor the valet service and pick up the car leaving me a G80 to use. It seems like quite a distance, 120 miles round trip, for servicing. We shall see how it all pans out.
